Tim Ryan
Anyone remember him?
Has ended up as Youth Manager at York, wonder how he got that job!
Penny for anyone’s thoughts?

Re: Tim Ryan
What a back line that was. Austin, White, Foster and Ryan with Stockdale between the sticks for good measure. Wow.

Don't think Tim Ryan played much did he? Wasn't he usually injured?
Seem to remember Purdie or maybe Ryan Valentine playing a lot at left back in that team.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Tim Ryan
Was it Tim Ryan who smashed that free-kick that was aiming for the top corner against Pools at 0-0 until Dimi Konstantopolous stopped it?
Still believe to this day that if that had went in, we'd have won that day.

I think you may be right Andy though I hate to admit they were a class apart that day.

46 games, 1 goal.Spyman wrote:Don't think Tim Ryan played much did he? Wasn't he usually injured?
I had a memory that Keltie almost scored from distance in that game, could be a different incident though. Thought we edged the first half only for Sam Russel to concede a poor goal at his near post. Second half we were run ragged though.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
Re: Tim Ryan
I think I remember his goal - a deflected free kick v grimsby to give us a late win. I always enjoyed those ill-deserved wins v grimsby as their fans always struck me as a right bunch of dicks. Didn't they report us to the fa for making signings when we were close to liquidation?
I also remember dave penney loudly calling Tim Ryan "rat" right in front of all our fans, in what looked suspiciously like an attempt to force a comedy nickname on him.

Got to disagree here, I go to their games quite regularly and they've got nothing but admiration and respect for the way we have stuck by the club.tdk1 wrote:as their fans always struck me as a right bunch of dicks.
I'm always welcomed by them and never had any issues with Town fans.
