Favourite ever Darlo kit?
I am bored at work on a Sunday late shift and seeing as there is no transfer speculation to talk about it seems our new kit will be the next unveiling of the summer
So . . what is your favourite and least favourite ever Darlo shirt?
http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Darling ... ington.htm
My favourite is the 1996 orange squared hooped kit and my least favourite would have to be the 1998 monstrosity.
Favourite away shirt was the all black one in 2004-05

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
I'm sure I remember from my youth that we played in a white shirt with one wide hoop, any of the older ones recall it?

remember to take a look at http://www.darloshirtmuseum.co.uk
my vote goes to 86/87 and the hummel strip

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
That page really brings home how crap 99-04 was in terms of home kits, didnt like a single one of them.
Best has to be the 89-91 title winner, not just for sentiment but for the bold black hoops. 95-96 was a great shirt as well.
If we can't have hoops this season as people have been saying, I think itd be good to have something along the lines of the white shirt/ red trim/ black shorts of the late 70's. Making red a bit more prominent would prevent the seats looking so out of place.

Has to be the 66/69 strip for me, Seemed quite revolutionary at the time, but wow when you look at some of the ones that came later!
Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
I'm with Scott. The all white Hummel kit was a classic. I used to have it but god knows where it is now. I'd still wear it, although it would be ridiculously tight (I was 13 at the time).

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
like a few shirts. the 1966-1969 one does look good also the 1995-96 shirt but also the 08-09. the worst ones are "SOCCORDOME" of 1996-97 to the 2004-05 shirt which is nice shirt

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
yeah that hummel strip was class. hummel were new to the uk around that time, i always remember them most for their 86 denmark top, very nice.
My fave has to be the iconic, historic, legendary cult classic that was the 89 to 91 ISL hoop. never had one, didnt do my size, but what a shirt to finish the 80's off with. classic v neck, jack hatfield, 2 championships, amazing

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
I really liked last seasons, other than that gotta be the 95/96 hoops.
Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
Think it was 97-98, but it was the green top I liked

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
That's probably my least favourite away kit. Thought the home shirt that season was naff aswell . . even if it was a tribute to a shirt from a previous era.
The Hummel kit is a classic and was what Darlo wore when I first started going.
I wonder whether I just like the kits we wore in successful seasons? Would I have loved Soccerdome if we had beaten Plymouth 4-0. well . . er no probably not.

I agree with Fat Tony - the best has to be the 89-91 shirt, not just for the promotions but i like the design.
Worst has to be that crappy Soccerdome one we wore at Wembley - terrible

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
The bright orange Soccerdome kit was fooking awful and made watching highlights of the famous draw at Leeds headache inducing.
My favourite was the yellow and blue shirt from 1995-96 that we only ever lost one league game wearing.
My 5-a-side team wear an exact replica of the hummel shirt

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
My vote has to go for last seasons shirt, very impressed with it, 2nd has to be the one from02-03, really liked that one
Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
The 95-96 home kit for me, followed by the red and black away kit we wore in about 2001. It was worn by the likes of Steve Harper, Clint Marcelle and David McMahon but I thought it was a really nice kit.
Worst has to be the Soccerdome one, it was awful quality and the fact that it was sponsored by a Brearley/Morgon company that didn't exist and replaced an excellent sponsor - Orange - on the eve of our biggest ever game. The all-yellow affair in 1999/2000 was horrible as well, even though we won most games in it.

Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
yep ditching Orange for the play-off final has did the club no favours, im pretty sure Orange would have got behind the club for a long time if they hadnt been so badly treated.
Re: Favourite ever Darlo kit?
I'm very traditional on this topic . It's black and white hoops for me .

Worst for me has to be the 03-04 top by Reynolds, the one where he wanted it to be red and white stripes, horrible top
