Great to hear the club are actively looking in to bringing Whitey back.

Umm... Yeah, go on then. Love it. I'd have whitey back in the drop of a hat - or, more accurately, the drop of an oppostion forward's smashed, broken, redundant helmet. You want somebody who really knows how to defend, and is 'vocal' (and then some), look no further. No more watching our backline get bullied if whitey's back. Come home Alan!

If we are honestly waiting for the Luton manager's answer, and as reported, White has been told he's not needed there, then the only stumbling block should be wages, shouldn't it?

So long as someone doesn't pinch him, ala Keltie. I would hope White would have more about him than that though.

Darlo are waiting for response from Luton for White to return. He is 1 of 4 more additional signins Stuanton wants to bring in.

Yeah, I meant is he one of the 4 signings? I presume he is as it hasn't been officially announced yet.

I apologise, i mis-read the statement. Well Staunton said he was trying to get 3 more players in, so i would presume so.

Whilst its not beyond the realms of possibility that whitey will return probably a loan deal till the end of the season I think we will struggle financially to sign him back stranger things have happened I know that there are a few clubs looking at him

Heard from down here (Bedford) that Alan White is going out on a season long loan to either Histon or Darlo. Not much more said on the TV. They were speaking to the Luton boss about transfers etc. May know something soon

i don't see a loan here as he's been told to find another club ,i think it would be permanent move if it come's off. i do hope so as i like to think a local lad will spur on his team mate's to do better.

i think a loan is the only chance we'll have of getting him, he has 18 months on his contract at luton, so he's not going to come here for a 6 month deal.

we wont be able to offer longer than 6 months as we dont know where we'll be next season, as shown by the foster situation

so the only option remaining is a loan deal until the end of the season - at least it gets white off luton's wage bill for the rest of the season at least and they'll hope his performances put him in the shop window - if a miracle does happen and we stay up, we might then be in a position to sign him for a further 12 months
