Sadly people like that are too ignorant to realise the ill feeling it causes towards the football club and its fans

Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
Clamping is illegal.
Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
That makes me the Stupid one then I guess! Seriously though, wonder how Blackwell Grange can enforce this?polarbear wrote:Clamping is illegal.
Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
They could charge £3 per car, get one of the staff to enforce it, then say full after a certain amount, that keeps spaces for guests.bga wrote:Seriously though, wonder how Blackwell Grange can enforce this?polarbear wrote:Clamping is illegal.

If your there at an event and you cant park I’d be pissed off, plenty of parking within 5-10min walk of Blackwell.

In reality, they won't be able to without further expense to themselves. As said earlier, if they try clamping vehicles, that's actually a criminal offence, so they'd be shooting themselves in the foot. Someone could do with mentioning that to them (or they already know in which case it's the worst scare tactic ever).bga wrote:That makes me the Stupid one then I guess! They'd need to employ a parking attendant on a matchday to turn supporters away. Or they can ticket unauthorised vehicles, although pursuing people who simply don't pay would become expensive and create bad will.
Tricky one for the hotel as it's clearly ridiculous for supporters to be parking on private property without permission.

They could in reality charge whatever they wanted for parking and then give it back to any genuine guests inside the hotel. Discount off your hotel stay. Discount off your bill etc.polarbear wrote:They could charge £3 per car, get one of the staff to enforce it, then say full after a certain amount, that keeps spaces for guests.bga wrote:Seriously though, wonder how Blackwell Grange can enforce this?polarbear wrote:Clamping is illegal.
How expensive that would be to operate I dunno - they would probably only have to do it once I month I suppose to act as the deterrent intended.

I park at Blackwell Grange and I usually I arrive early and there is normally loads of space. Thanks for the warning, I guess Blackwell lane will be getting even busier on matchdays from now on.

Predictable that this idiot parks in Blackwell. Just pay your fiver to park at Blackwell Meadows and enjoy the match.Darlo_Pete wrote:I park at Blackwell Grange and I usually I arrive early and there is normally loads of space. That of course will cost the hotel money and reduce profitability. Which in turn will cause resentment from hotel towards football club and its fans.
Your last sentence sums it up
Its also sadly a problem across society as many motorists seem to think its their right to leave their vehicles wherever they like. It is wrong to think of it as soley a thing caused by fans going to Darlington. however, the "victim" will see it as being caused by Darlington Football Club

Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
Good on Blackwell I’m amazed they have been so patient and it has taken this long.
Anyone in their right mind who supports the club should stay away from parking there or trying to be clever saying 'what can they do?' They are close neighbours who have politely asked you not to park on their grounds.
There is loads of free on street parking around the BM. Only total laziness and selfishness is behind the reason why people park on the hotel grounds.

Same reasons a lot of people drive in the first place.BaronsCourtQuaker wrote: Only total laziness and selfishness is behind the reason why people park on the hotel grounds.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
Probably brought to a head by the idiots who park on the grass on the drive up to the hotel, and not even in recognised parking spaces. Doesn't give a great first impression to visitors to the hotel.
Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
Park at Blackwell Grange, pay the penalty, simple as. Any darlington fc fan who had the club at heart would park at Blackwell meadow, in the club car park, all the whingeing that went on before we got parking sorted you would think that people would be only to happy to use the club parking as 80%of the fee goes straight to the football club funding.
So come on gentlemen park in the appropriate car park. No sympathy with those parking where they SHOULDN'T, just be sensible about it.

Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
I just hope the ban isnt extended to people walking through the hotel grounds to get to BM because it'll mean a bloody big detour. But i suppose a motley band of darlo fans doesnt make a good backdrop to wedding photos Then again they do get the occasional fan calling in for a beer and they may then return for a meal.
Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
I think the walk past the hotel is a public right of way.Its certainly a marked route on Google maps.As has been said, park at the ground and help the club out.LoidLucan wrote:I just hope the ban isnt extended to people walking through the hotel grounds to get to BM because it'll mean a bloody big detour. Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
I walk from the Blackwell Lane direction as do quite a few others but have noticed cars with fans pulling into the hotel car park.

Yep despite white painted boulders obviously meaning don't park here, people still try and squeeze there cars into the spaces in between.

There are no boulders or signs that say you can't.Emdubya wrote:But it’s OK to park outside the front door is it ?Darlo_Pete wrote:Yep despite white painted boulders obviously meaning don't park here, people still try and squeeze there cars into the spaces in between.

I bet there are signs in the Hotel car park saying something like "parking for patrons only" in any case it's just common sense not to park at the Hotel if you're not a customer.Darlo_Pete wrote:There are no boulders or signs that say you can't.Emdubya wrote:But it’s OK to park outside the front door is it ?Darlo_Pete wrote:Yep despite white painted boulders obviously meaning don't park here, people still try and squeeze there cars into the spaces in between.

There are plenty of signs, not least the massive one (unless it's been taken down) at the main entrance! I had thought you couldn't miss that one, but evidently you can...
Re: Parking at Blackwell Grange Hotel on Matchdays
I don’t have any boulders or signs on my driveway. Please don’t take this to mean you can park on it Pete.
