Kit 3. I for one am shocked...
Looks a nice kit though
Now give me an orange away kit and you'll have 2 kit sales next season

Re: Choose next seasons kit!
Trust Darlo fans to choose the plainest, black and white hoops possible
To be fair, i don't dislike it. My preference was 4 with the red flash on the arms, but i'm happy we have a settled identity. Darlington FC = Black and White hoops. Lets keep it that way, albeit with minor variation year on year.

Nice strip but not keen on hooped socks at all.All white socks would have looked great ,similar to the Spenny design.

Hooped socks are the best bit about the kit! Feels ages since we've had them

Boring option, just a re-hash of previous shirts. I won't be buying one.

OH the irony.... Now that is funny... Can't stop laughing. A very good reason to buy one.
Re: Choose next seasons kit!
Well.. its not the same, is it? It's full hoops, and it has supporters names woven into the white.
I voted for 4, but I like this one too. I hope the numbers are red at least

Re: Choose next seasons kit!
I think that, as a group, the voting supporters are a conservative, with a small “c” group when it comes to kit selection so any radical kit design is not going to be selected unless they are all radical.
I’d still really like us to have something similar to this Puma Dortmund shirt as the top for our away kit:-

Re: Choose next seasons kit!
And if we do want something radical we should ask Puma to let us see the designs for Dortmund which didn’t make the final cut, or just borrow their design and replace yellow with white:

That’s interesting you have actually proven me wrong about the whole kit design is fundamental to identity idea.
Those are all clearly ‘Dortmund’ kits maybe it’s because their colours are so vivid but actually on reflection my theory that you could generally guess the pattern of a kit as well as the colours doesn’t work anywhere near as well in Germany as it does in England or Italy.

Great thing about the hooped socks is that after washing, you can tie them together and use them as a Darlo scarf!

I remember when my lads were mascots at Feethams and I ended up buying Widnes RLFC hooped socks to complete their kit. Couldn't find them anywhere else.

Perception also changes over time.lo36789 wrote:That’s interesting you have actually proven me wrong about the whole kit design is fundamental to identity idea.

Dortmund are pretty radical in their kit design but when I was a youngster Darlington played in white shirts and black shorts.
Nobody associated them with hoops (even though it was clearly part of what I then saw as some long forgotten history) until the post promotion addition of 3 narrow bands.
Even that was barely a hooped shirt. I think at most it was regarded as sticking with the white shirt but giving a nod to the club’s history.
We don’t have to go too far back in the clubs history to find Darlington shirts which no relation to any history other than that they have black and white in them (the 1990’s striped one and the “brass tin” design of the same period spring to mind.
For me revisiting the all white shirt is almost as much a part of the club’s history as the hoops.
I do think that going for something radically different wouldn’t do us any harm (and the first Dortmund design is based on a variation of the hooped theme)
