Ashton V Kidderminster
Probably one of the most crucial games in our up and down season, we are now definitely looking at other teams results to stave off relegation, so that starts tonight, so come on Kidderminster you it makes sense

People are making out that it's between us and the bottom 3, but there is Leamington, Hereford and Guiseley between us and the bottom 3, so yes it is of concern, but we are certainly not at panic stations yet. No doubt there will be plenty of turning points in the remainder of the season.

This is true but a Kidderminster win would not go amiss.Darlo_Pete wrote:People are making out that it's between us and the bottom 3, but there is Leamington, Hereford and Guiseley between us and the bottom 3, so yes it is of concern, but we are certainly not at panic stations yet. Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
If we beat the teams beneath us we will pick up 15 points and in the process prevent those teams getting points. If that happens we will finish in quite a comfortable position I believe.
09/03 - A - Hereford
23/03 - A - Nuneaton
06/04 - H - FC United
22/04 - A - Guiseley
27/04 - H - Leamington

Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Problem is we've only beaten 1 of those teams so far this season, and I'm not sure how well we cope with pressure! Although to be fair we have only lost 1 of them.
I think we'll stay up, but I'm not sure how comfortable it will be. A Kiddy win tonight would be a treat

Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Having won just 8 of 31 games so far I wouldn't be putting my shirt on us gaining 5 wins from our remaining 11 fixtures.

Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Despite what TW has been saying since December, " we are in a relegation battle" and I agree we will not get 5 wins from 11, squeaky bum time
Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Thankfully we won't need to win five games to guarantee safety. Last season 47 points was needed to stay up but over the past five seasons the total needed has been 47, 36, 47, 46 and 38. You decide where safety lies this time around.
Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
I reckon we'll go something like:
Chorley - Draw
Telford - Lose
Hereford - Draw
Chester - Win
Nuneaton - Win
Stockport - Lose
FC United - Draw
Bradford PA - Lose
Guiseley - Draw
Leamington - Lose
That would give us 10 points from our last 10 or so games which is about the rate we've been putting them on the board all season. I'd be very surprised if we were in trouble with 46 points. Always hope for more. But we'll see.

You've forgotten Boston (a) (between FCUM and BPA), JE93, but I reckon your sums will prove about right: 10 or 11 points from our last 11 games should see us right. Ashton and FCUM would have to find a spectacular run of form to catch us, not that it can't be done of course....JE93 wrote:I reckon we'll go something like:

Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
1-0 to Kidderminster, apparently massively against the run of play
Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
FT: Ashton United 0-1 Kidderminster
Big result for us, keeps us 6 clear.

Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Results went well for us tonight so we have 6 point cushion with a game in hand. Really need to pull in a few points for ourselves rather than having to rely on other teams.

I'll go for a draw there which gets us to 11 and 47 points haha.

Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Great result last night for us and takes a bit of pressure off the team.
Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
Good result for us last night - 6 points clear (effectively 7 when you consider the goal difference turnaround which would be needed for Ashton to go above us on the same number of points), and a game in hand (albeit away at Telford, which looks about the most nailed on home victory I can think of).
Re: Ashton V Kidderminster
If we can repeat the battling performance we showed at Blythe for the remaining games we will be ok.Hardly gave them any chances so well capable of grinding out results at places like Telford.
