Another former player has passed away. I have to confess his name wasn't familiar to me but as he played just two games, the season before I was born that's hardly surprising. Went on to play for South Shields and Spennymoor. Interestingly, after his playing career ended, and after a spell managing Crook, he returned to run the DFC youth and reserve teams. Went out and raised 30k for cancer charities when he learned he had bowel cancer. Top man, clearly.
