Ferguson under contract for another year
Re: Released players
YORK:
The club's retained list has now been announced following the completion of the 2018-19 Vanarama National League North season.
Five out-of-contract players have been told they will not be offered new deals - Hamza Bencherif, Josh Law, Alex Harris, Jon Parkin, and Josh Rogerson.
New deals have been offered to four players - Macaulay Langstaff, Adriano Moke, Joe Tait, and Ryan Whitley.
The club is still in negotiations with goalkeeper Adam Bartlett whose contract is due to expire this summer.
Defender Daniel Parslow and midfielder Simon Heslop - who are also out-of-contract - were both invited to return for pre-season training this summer following lengthy injury absences.
Parslow has rejected that opportunity and the club wishes him a fond farewell along with good luck in his next career move.
Defenders Tom Bradbury, David Mirfin, and Jasper Moon - who finished the season on loan at Bootham Crescent - have returned to their parent clubs.
Midfielder Scott Burgess has been offered a permanent deal after spending the final months of the season on loan with the club from Bury.
The club would like to thank all departing players for their efforts and wishes them good luck in the future.
Players under contract for the 2019-20 season: Tom Allan, Jordan Burrow, Nathan Dyer, David Ferguson, Kallum Griffiths, Alex Kempster, Patrick McLaughlin, Sean Newton, Reiss Harrison, Jake Watson, Jake Wright, Wes York.
I remember Bencharif playing against us in the 0-0 draw at Bootham a couple of years ago and I thought he looked decent, however it seems the York fans didn't rate him much. Not sure about the others. More amazed that Tait has been offered a new deal. If I was Bartlett I'd have a look elsewhere if I'm not going to be first team

Re: Released players
Fegie was not the same player when we played them this season maybe York didn't play to his strengths I don't know. For me he wasn't the same player.

Re: Released players
I cannot wait to log onto the York forum and see the meltdown re Moke
Bencheriff is shite.
Kempster would be the only one worth a look

Blimey, you were right about Moke. The fans responses in the club twitter feed are definitely showing signs of meltdown!

Wasn't he the one who tried to arrange a fight with a York fan?don'tbuythesun wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 9:41 pmBlimey, you were right about Moke. The fans responses in the club twitter feed are definitely showing signs of meltdown!

Yep, fined and warned by the club.

Hasn’t Michael Woods not long re-signed for them from Hartlepool too...
Re: Released players
Yes he's been at Pools. Decent player though. Remember Thewlis being good too

Re: Released players
See Jason Kennedy and Gary liddle have both gone from Carlisle. Kennedy is good enough to be higher but has had major injury problems, not sure what level liddle lands next.
If we end up with thirlwell I suppose we may end up looking at Carlisle a bit more.

If we got Parkin, Taylor's Pies would come on board as a main sponsor

How long could they afford to keep up the sponsorship though?

Hasn't Scott Fenwick been released from somewhere? Wonder if he'll end up at SS.

Chelmsford City I think.
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. Re: Released players
There'll be hell on at Blyth if Shields nip in with a fistful of dollars for Maguire. Wonder if Gary Brown will move on for a Shildon reunion.
Re: Released players
Styche put on transfer list and alfreton concluding negotiations for his fee.
Re: Released players
Striker Carl Finnigan has left South Shields due to new work commitments and has signed for Whickham FC... what a waste. Didn't he help to destroy us in that Cup humiliation at BM? He got 72 goals in 115 appearances for the Mariners... not a bad haul. I bet they'll be desperate to try to lure Maguire now.
Re: Released players
He seems to have a sly dig towards Alfreton on twitter, saying it'll be good to be playing in front of a crowd again.LoidLucan wrote:Styche put on transfer list and alfreton concluding negotiations for his fee.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

South Shields aren’t gonna let anyone go unless they want them to I’d guess.LoidLucan wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 2:25 pmStriker Carl Finnigan has left South Shields due to new work commitments and has signed for Whickham FC... what a waste. Whickham seemingly showing intent though and suggests that Bartlett’s motivations to go there may be more than just locality...
Re: Released players
I think Styche will just be relieved to get away from Sgt Major Billy Heath bellowing at him and ordering him to play everywhere but where he is most effective. He needs to be another six inches tall to fit in with Billy's masterplan.
Re: Released players
I think Finnigan left due to work commitments, so nothing to do with wanting to leave or SS wanting to get rid
