I’d have fancied our chances of signing him if TW had still been here

Re: Released players
Brilliant signing for them, he is.
I bet he comes at a hefty wage though.

Re: Released players
They seem to have a bit of cash behind them, especially after they were languishing near the bottom in the first couple of seasons at this levelGhost_Of_1883 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 12:23 pmBrilliant signing for them, he is.

We picked up a brilliant signing from Harrogate this time last year. I mean we didn’t...Ghost_Of_1883 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 12:23 pmBrilliant signing for them, he is.

Re: Released players
Scott Fenwick has signed for Blyth.
Dominic Knowles has signed for Boston.
Steven Rigg has signed for Dover.
Be interesting to see what centre-forward we do get.

Jamie Owens has gone back to Stockton
Re: Released players
When MG signed Scott Fenwick at the start of the 2017-8 season it seemed a little strange that he only left after 4 games. Did he clash with MG or something? Interesting to know if AA had a word with him this time but he chose Blyth instead, or if AA didn't even consider him.
Re: Released players
Beck was carrying an injury that season and it wasn’t clear how serious it was at the time so MG was allowed to bring Fenwick short term as it put us over budget. He was never really planned to be a long term acquisition and as it was Gray just ended up playing an injured Beck rather than Fenwick in the end. Don’t think Fenwick particularly wanted to be here because of that.Vodka_Vic wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 11:23 amWhen MG signed Scott Fenwick at the start of the 2017-8 season it seemed a little strange that he only left after 4 games. Re: Released players
South Shields just bought Jason Gilchrist from Southport, should get goals at that level. I think he's best mates of two of Shields' North West-based players.
He was on big money at Southport and they've lost their major backer.

Re: Released players
TW has signed Liam Hughes for Stratford as an, ahem, attacking midfielder after he scored three goals in two friendlies.
He's also signed a central defender who was on TV's Love Island!

Liam Hughes who left us for a club nearer his base in south York’s?

Obviously a cover story.
Re: Released players
I never did quite get the "love in" some fans had with Liam Hughes. The club did the right thing in supporting him last year when he had issues, and so did the fans, however I don't think he repaid any of that support by leaving us soon after returning to the team citing the reason above. You reap what you sow TW! We all know unless he has been to boot camp he'll struggle to play in midfield.

Come on Techies....how do we delete a double post?!
Re: Released players
That crazy Leamington keeper Tony Breeden has been released. Seems he twatted a team-mate in training, leaving him with a broken nose! 341 games for Leamington and 4 goals to his credt... I think he took a few penalties. That's going out with a bang alright
