A few reflections of todays game at Bradford PA

What a smashing little club they are. They've got a great set up and made all the massed ranks of Darlo fans very welcome. They're quite a decent team and caused our back 4 a few problems before Martins scrambled in our first. Apparently he is a cousin of Martins at Wolfsburg. Second goal was very well worked with Thorpe scoring from a delicate corner. Foster & Miller played for the first half and looked pretty good. Second half we brought on a new back line and they scored from a great run and cross on the right wing, our left back was turned inside and out.
Players that impressed me in particular were Arnison, Miller, Foster, Martins & Knight. Knight made a terrific save at the end of the first half and looked a lot more confident than he has in some of his previous games. Spoke to Foster in the bar after the game and he said he felt fine after playing 60 minutes. He see's a specialist on Monday and if he gives the all clear expect him to line up against Aldershot a week today.
The crowd today was 254 of which roughly 40 to 50 were from Darlo.

Crowd was 245 Pete :D
I agree with what your saying, was a great little club, seemed very hospitable. Thought we dominated today's game first half, although they had their chances. Knighty made a fantastic point-blank save towards the end of the first half.
Martins and Thorpey played well together up front with Thorpe being much stronger in the air, winning the headers and knocking down for Martins. Whether he is or he isn't related to Oba, he showed that he is more than capable. He showed that he was comfortable on the ball, can drive forwards, has pace and doesn't seem scared to shoot.

The 11 in the first half worked really hard for each other and it was a joy to watch some of the passages of play. Convery I was really impressed with today, as I was with our left winger Grainger from the Youth Team. Being a first year pro, it can't of been easy but he looked comfortable playing against a strong Unibond side.

Second half, we lacked the drive going forward and the urge to create opportunities. That saying, it was a chance to see some of the trialists in action.
Baines - was steady but didn't catch my eye.
Williams - solid second half, didn't get asked much of him
Marwood - excellent second half, plenty of running and skill, always tried to beat his man, looks a good prospect

First Half trialist
Martins - could look a good addition, we need more firepower and I think he could be the answer. Although we've only seen 45 minutes from him, he played well up top.

Yep should have mentioned Convery in my lead article, he looked very good today and must surely have earned himself a contract.
