No pressure but they've just enjoyed the most successful season in their history including making the play-offs. TW seems to be talking a lot about giving youth a chance so maybe Glover will join him at a club closer to home.

Plenty of scope for Bardish banter in Tommy's new job. What about 'some falls are means the happier to rise' or 'happy are they who can bear their detractions, and can put them to mending'? Good luck to him anyway and lets hope we can draw them in the cup, Tommy's teams often stumble in knock-outs.

TW seems to be in a right old mess at Stratford. At the weekend they released 5 players and recalled 2 who had been out on loan for just a week and have fielded a total of 29 players in 9 games. They recently went out of the FA Cup at the first time of asking when they were tonked 4-1 by a lower league team. Fans have been complaining about a hopelessly chaotic defence and weak midfield and the first Tommy Out posts have started already

Its a shame for TW but I met some Corby directors in Chesham last season (on my way to Wembley with City again) and they liked him but said there was no way he would be brought back as a manager.
Dont think hes cut out for it, sames principles in business, you have to be organised and strategic and he is neither.
Do hope it works out for him but cant see it.

I think AA has shown his experience and ability in the dressing room because the vibes and spirit are really kicking in. There's no way a Tommy team would have got Saturdays result but it's all history now - as we're all in a better mood this week let's wish him all the best. My view is that he would do better learning his trade as someone's number two, as our other esteemed ex is looking for a job they could team up. Maybe at Newcastle as they'll be looking for someone soon.

Some people are suited to football management, others not. What kind of player you were seems to have no bearing on this.
If we say that there are 7 good leagues in England (that's including 3 National leagues) this means that there are less than 175 pro standard managers in our country - so quite a specialist job,

I honestly think he'd work well as a youth coach. The attention he gave Saunders before he left. Most youth football is soft so it goes with his style of play (that's not a dig, that's the truth)

Thanks Emdubya - I got it. All the young dudes in Darlo's dressing room are singing the same song these days. When TW led the band it was more like the Soft Machine on a bad day, anyway the Boro' job will be available soon - they could do worse.
