Weather looking good for Saturday and I’m looking forward to this one to see the new players. I would imagine they will bring 200 odd fans as well.

They might bring 200 normal fans as well.

Going to be a tough game they have hasd several preseason games already & scored 7 past Gretna on Tuesday, no Ryan Bowman this time but see they have Andy Coles son Devante on loan and half a dozen new signings and trialists hoping to impress. I would be happy with a draw and no injuries

Just over 800 for the same fixture last year, I hope we can beat that, with the new team and manager it would be great to give them a proper Darlo welcome.
You do get a few who don’t bother with preseason games, but this ones got to be a bit different with all the changes in personnel , it’s a given that we’ll get beat but a good opportunity to see the new players in action

One of the trialists in tomorrows game.

Will Hatfield

William Henry Hatfield is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League club Guiseley.

He used to be pretty decent one of there better players in that team... I think he started his career at leeds if I remember rightly

250+ appearances at this level, or higher. A good age at 27 and Guiseley fans really rate him.

Not surprised to see the ages of the players we have already recruited:

Chris Elliott (26)
Louis Laing (26)
Jordan Watson (26)
Michael Liddle (29)
David Atkinson (26)
Jarrett Rivers (25)
Jamie Holmes (21)
Adam Campbell (24)

Holness & Bascombe will feature, as well as Will Hatfield.

Liddle & Galbraith unavailable so Jonny Burn will play.

So will a trialist striker from Bermuda, which i think we established earlier in the week was Tehvan Tyrell... the last information I can find on him was that he was playing for a team called JK Narva in Estonia. Exotic.

He's been a very popular player with the Guiseley fans who were really hoping he would stay on.

Yes please.....

One thing that's been lacking at Darlo of late is someone who can actually score from a free kick.
This would do nicely.

I wonder if the fact that he has been named means he will be signing. Normally managers just list Triallist A and B etc and his background doesn't suggest a player who needs to be assessed in a trial. He's solid and well regarded.

I think recruitment been different this year as regards players being named before signing or not signing Not sure if it’s a good/bad way to go about it.

I think it's generally better to keep these things quiet until they're signed and sealed to avoid other potential suitors coming after them when they know they're available.

This is the first time I have been quite excited about the first pre season friendly, really looking forward to seeing the new players even though I know we will lose.

Up the Quakers!

Initial thoughts...the Bermudan CF is a big unit. You can see Burn’s ability in the warmup. He owes it to himself to perform. We also look a lot leaner than we did at PSV. Some of the impressive bellies from Lanarkshire would have fitted in well at that game. Oh yeah.. and Campbell is much smaller than Thommo

I'd sign Hatfield tomorrow. In fact I’d not let him out of the car park tonight until the ink’s dry

Make sure that you ask Quakerman at least 20 questions.

Interestingly, looking at the teams, there's no Bascombe (assuming the trialist is Tevahn Tyrell given the reports he's a striker).

Interesting that Hatfield and Holness were named players rather than listed as trialists themselves. Deals already done maybe?

0-1. Keeper sliced backpass behind for a corner (looks a good shot stopper though) They scored a rebound goal from the knock-down. Playing well, looking fit, solid at back/defensive midfield (Holness and Hatfield). Good going forward but wee Campbell too lightweight/small for this league?? Early days I guess.
Make that 0-2 - 20-yarder low through crowd of players keeper no chance. H/T

Ah so he is - i just read the clubs original tweet, but in the teamsheet Bascombe is there. As is Stansfield and Lingthep.

Honestly, just hoping for a good run out for the lads here. Expecting a mullering. They're a pro team way ahead of their preparations. We can't read too much into the result.

Aye...just the right mix of eye candy and hardened drinkers with the odd indie frontman chucked in for good measure

Laing and Atkinson solid and accomplished. Holness and Hatfield could be a very impressive pairing. Forward line needs to get to know one another but that will come. Great start
