Will Hatfield
Sounds like he had an impressive debut yesterday and word is he's signed with us.
Any idea why he left Guisely? Looks like he's been a regular there for a few seasons so seems odd to drop a division to join us.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Will Hatfield
Guiseley fans rate him highly, and regard him as one of their key players. I'm not too sure why he has ended up departing, perhaps he is after a change having being at Guiseley for the past 4 years and we can offer slightly more.
AA also mentioned in his post-match that Hatfield knows Michael Liddle very well, having spent 4 seasons at Accrington together.
Re: Will Hatfield
AA sad that he contacted us, we gave him a trial , we offered him better terms than they could so here he is.

Re: Will Hatfield
Seems like the kind of player we were badly missing last season. A leader who’s willing to put his foot and try to dictate things.

Re: Will Hatfield
Great signing.
We wont get bullied in the middle if we can play him and Holness together.

Or a fully fit Wheatly in there with him could be a bit tasty.A lot to look forward to for this season on yesterday’s showing.MCFCDarlo3 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 5:37 pmGreat signing.

Re: Will Hatfield
Hopefully this will be the midfielder we have been missing since Turnbull left.
I reckon the main reason it went Pete Tonge for Tommy was that the team lacked leaders on the pitch, in this league you need characters with something about them.
Main area of concern is up front at the minute, do we have enough - I don't think so. I am more than willing to give Campbell the benefit of the doubt, but we have seen plenty of players over the years with over inflated reputations come in and disappear with a wimper.
Really positive signs from Alun though. Just such a shame the ground is almost a never ending issue and where the future might lie.

Are you forgetting David Atkinson, he is nailed on to start ahead of Holness.MCFCDarlo3 wrote:Great signing.

Re: Will Hatfield
Think we’re gonna need a big target-man type of player for Campbell to work off of.

Agreed. Barring injuries, or any change of heart from Armstrong, the starting XI at Farsley is very likely to be: Elliott; Trotman, Laing, Galbraith, Liddle; Hatfield, Atkinson; Rivers, Thompson, Holmes, Campbell.QUAKERMAN2 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 7:40 pmAre you forgetting David Atkinson, he is nailed on to start ahead of Holness.MCFCDarlo3 wrote:Great signing.

At least one more midfielder and another forward are definitely needed. That'd take us up to 17 in the squad (if we include Cameron Hall as reserve keeper, but exclude Kneeshaw who's injured and with an unknown contract situation). Then maybe one or two more new faces after that as squad players. Who knows, AA may even decide to use some of the U23/academy players too, particularly if they impress over pre-season.

Re: Will Hatfield
Armstrong's big man was Robbie Dale out on the wing. Long ball out to him against the smaller full backs, great with the ball at his feet.
Re: Will Hatfield
A bit like how we used to use Purewal then?

Re: Will Hatfield
Thompson is fairly decent in the air, believe it or not. Armstrong wants to play him centrally, but I wouldn't be adverse to Thompson drifting out wide on set-pieces and move Rivers in-field temporarily.
