FA Cup draw tomorrow! I love this competition and am ready to be gutted at going out early once again. Nevertheless, who does everyone fancy?

Possibly a good local tie: Stockton, Whitby, Morpeth, Marske/Scarborough, Dunston/Sunderland RCA, and South Shields and Thornaby in replays too.

As a manc exile I’ll selfishly take Trafford away.

A step 9 side at home please (and with our record in the cup I'd suggest we still wouldn't be favourites  )

Do we know when the draw is out?

Honestly. Can we have a step 9 side at home please, and just try not to do anything stupid. Stockton, Marske, Thornaby or Sunderland RCA ideally, so it might bump the crowd a bit with local interest.

If i cared about an interesting tie, i wouldn't mind Scarborough away to visit their new ground. But we'd probably manage to lose. Whitby away also. Pleasant away trip, but i'd be concerned we'd contrive to knack it up.

Marske are step 4 now. There isn’t a step 9 and only some step 6 clubs are allowed to enter. No step 7.

The draw will be released at 1pm

Do you have this week’s lottery numbers as well?

Had no idea Marske had gone up. Assumed the Northern League was still step 9, but have no idea how these things have shuffled. We'd still need to be relegated 3 times, not sure whatever daft name they put on it, that's step step 9 surely, and we are step 6? (Assuming Prem 1, Champo 2, 1 = 3, 2 = 4, Nat = 5, Nat N&S =6).

The steps really only refer to the non league part of the pyramid so the steps are as follows :-

1 - National League
2 - National League North / South
3 - Northern Premier League
4 - NPL Div 1 (split into two divisions)
5 - Northern League Div 1
6 - Northern League Div 2
7 - Wearside League

Obviously there are many more leagues at step 3 and below.

Step 1 is also the 5th tier of English football which is where the confusion often lies.

Yeah, so while there is no Step 9 there is a tier (or level) 9 which would be Northern League Div 1 (amongst others).

Fair enough, i always thought it included all leagues  So i've been wrong for quite a while. Anyway, was hoping for a Northern League side at home.

Trafford away... i mean. We should win... but our away form... and cup form...
