5 yellow cards

Post by dfc4me » Fri Sep 27, 2019 1:41 pm

Jordan Watson’s on Sat. was his fifth but, according to AA in the Echo, he won’t be suspended this weekend but will miss the fa cup match the week after because suspensions are now competition specific. Surely, if this is the case, JW has 4 yellows for league matches and only 1 for the fa cup so unless 1 yellow gets you a cup suspension I don’t see how he misses next week.
Also Holloway said in his interview JW would be suspended this weekend.
Anyone know what the actual rules are now?

2 needed in the FA Cup for a ban so Jordan isn’t banned at the moment but still misses Saturday’s game

Details on link here, it will download and you want page 5 for FA Cup info.

For the round we enter it seems to be 4 yellow cards before a 1 game ban would come in if I am reading it right and then 1 game for every 2 cautions after that.

Watson can play v Leamington.

As far as I can tell he’s not banned in either competition yet.Hes missing on Saturday because he’s at a wedding

Probably only arranged when they thought he was banned for five yellows in total bat now it’s four in one and one in the other.
Clear as mud eh!

Hopefully someone will explain this to our management team as, judging from their recent interviews, they seem totally confused.

Don’t we have someone at the club who looks after compliance, I seem to remember when we played a player who’s clearance caused an issue a little while back, can’t remember all the ins and outs.
People have probably changed since then but the compliance to the rules still needs someone to be responsible for.

Yes. The football secretary. Dave Watson holds that position at the moment.

I don’t get the competition specific aspect when four cards were in the league and one in the cup. To me, that suggests he’s not suspended for either competition?

Apparently yellows in the fa cup carry over from last season so may have got one with Blyth last year in which case he is suspended next week.

It’s 4 yellows in the fa cup if starting at the point we do.

The official site shows red/yellow cards accumulated so far, (shows Watson on 5) might be better to add a cup competition column to differentiate between the two.
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. The image on the right will be constantly updated with the latest total so please feel free to use the image link below the thermometer on your own signatures, blogs, websites, etc.Image

On a side note, Hedley is now banned for one game after massing 5 cards and will miss the home game v Boston. This isn't great as he has done ok at RB, presume Watson would move to LB and Liddle RB for that game.

We just can't get a settled defence currently.
