Just looking at squad the for up and coming FA Cup game, injuries red/yellow cards and loans.

Liddle,.............................Atkinson...............................Holliday,.........................................................Bascome.
Watson,............................Holmes,
Laing,
Galbraith,
Hatfield, (yellow)
Wheatley,

If I have missed someone I apologise , but as you can see (assuming Liddle is fit) we 14 players eligible for the next two games, two are goal keepers , call me Mr picky but we looking a bit thin for next Saturday and Wednesday.

Hedley can play v's Walsall but not v's Brackley.

Red cards are across both league and FA Cup whilst yellow cards collation aren't. So Hedley's ban is Saturday.

Is is possible that Holliday and Bell are on youth loans, and thus available?

Yep re-read the rules and Hedley is banned v Brackley and therefore available v's Walsall on the Wednesday.

Also some were worried about Hatfield as he has at least 5 yellows (league and cup), but he needs 4 in the FA Cup to face a ban in the FA Cup, so is also fine.

I have edited the original post , still looking a bit thin.

Let's take a leaf out of the Premiership when so many players conveniently get "injured" ahead of internationals then miraculously heal & fit to play in crunch matches.
No names but you know who they are.....

Not sure what you are implying here?

Is there no chance of pulling Bascome and Donawa from Bermuda just this once? Huge game, and Armstrong suggested it on his BBC interview...

Not sure whether Armstrong was being tongue in cheek. Some think he was. However, he's put the thought out there. I wonder if being live on TV might sway things. It's basically a shop window for our players now. No doubt scouts will be watching to see if they can pick up a bargain, and it could be that it's more valuable to them to play on TV for their domestic careers (which pays for their daily bread) than for Bermuda on this occasion, as it's unique. Didn't Jarrett Rivers get a gig for Blackpool after he was seen on TV when Blyth beat Hartlepool so there is a precedent.

You can't pull out of an international squad injured and then play for your club side during the same international period - it gives the game away a bit that you are actually fit enough to play.

The examples above are great but all those clubs sides don't have fixtures at the time so injured or not makes no difference.

I thought cards were competition specific now, meaning Hedley would miss the replay owing to being sent off in the original tie?

Yellow cards yes, red cards no.

The FA keeping it simple to follow :D

With it being two yellows does that make a difference...(I'm joking)

Suppose they have to way up whether they are likely to start, against annoying their Federation. Haven't started many recently - Bascombe in particular is unlikely to get in ahead of Wheatley, Holness and Hatfield.

I'd be amazed if they don't go. They're probably gutted to miss our game... but come on. They're playing Mexico. Sadly for them it's not in the Azteca, but a smaller ground (although that probably means it'll be packed out). Once in a lifetime game for them. I don't begrudge either of them at all.

I wonder if we can get in a short term loan to bolster the squad? Even a youth loan from Boro or Sunderland. As i mused earlier, Bell & Holliday could be available. They might be on loan or dual registration terms themselves. But we could still do with someone else to boost numbers a little, the bench is very, very thin without the boys from Bermuda.

Its not their choice if they are selected they are effectively banned from playing for us.

I always remember that this was discussed about international retirement - it's not strictly something a player can do it's an informal arrangement that they have basically been asked not to be selected.

We can't get anyone else in as only players eligible for the original game are able to be selected for the replay.

It wouldn't bear thinking about if we picked up an injury or two on Saturday.

New thread on here says, Bascome and Donawa have gone on international duty so now down to 13 players for Saturday

Apparently Holliday and Bell can’t be called back and we can’t sign anyone to play who wasn’t eligible for the first game. That leaves us with a bench of ...

Elliott and Laing as first teamers with
Rhys Armstrong
And maybe some of the dual registration kids like Morrison and Stansfield.

REALLY hope no injuries on Saturday.

Laing will be playing won't he, as Liddle is injured and Hedley is suspended.

So we have no first teamers apart from a goalkeeper.

Hedley and Liddle may be back for Walsall

I was thinking FA Cup squad as per the title of this thread. But Hedley and Liddle out on Saturday then we’d be down to 12

God knows who will be RB this Saturday.Trotman, Hedley,
Liddle (probably not fit in time) and Atkinson all out, what a nightmare for AA and probably out of the question getting a loan player in as Hedley will be back for Walsall.
The Walsall game is tough enough anyway and has become a whole lot tougher with Bascombe and Donawa away. The bench will be very thin and will have nobody to bring on if tiredness kicks in.AA has had zero luck this season, cannot get any worse hopefully.

Lycett, Stansfield, Morrison and Armstrong it will have to be. At least the first three have played for us before, albeit as sub.
Our only chance v Walsall now is to race to a 2 goal lead, and hope they have someone sent off.
Maybe AA can bring in a loan for Brackley at least.

Liddle failed a fitness test on Saturday he can't be that far off surely? Like he was surely in contention but just not quite there yet?
