Not looking like a draw will be the outcome tonight. I think I'd have preferred to play Walsall than Solihull & yes I know Walsall aren't in the competition.

Take a bow, Michael Smith

Hopefully Moors will be done with the cups now for the season after that and want to get out of the Trophy as soon as possible.

Eight years since he played for Darlo. Seems like a lot longer. Anyone know how much we got when we sold him to Charlton? It was undisclosed at the time. transfermarkt.co.uk says 68k but apparently we turned down 80k from Bristol City so can't see why we'd have taken 68.

That is one stonkingly large kick in the nuts for them that easily surpasses our weekend achievement in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

At least AA won't have needed to go & watch them play, he'll just have watched TV.

The bad news is that Tim Flowers has already said he won't be making wholesale changes because "Darlington are a good side." He says "Under no circumstances will we be taking them lightly." He says we've got good spirit and will have a big following and they are in the Trophy to try to win it. So expect the full first team. Bit of a free hit for us, no-one expects us to do anything so we can just go out and do our thing and hopefully it's a Bescot-type performance rather than a Leamington one.

It's good that Flowers knows we are a good side as long as we give it our best shots this is another game we can learn from. We've had to adapt a lot this season but Sats. performance said so much about the club -. Fool if You Think it's Over eh?

Cold, damp & blustery weather forecast. Hope that is enough to put Moors out of their stride. Perhaps Thommo can stick in that 100th goal and we can cause an upset?

Perhaps we can get off the pitch at the end of the game with all contributing players being able to walk proper - and get them safely tucked up in bed by 10.30pm.

I think those conditions are more likely to favour them than us, unfortunately.

An upset isn't beyond the realms of possibility, but I can't say I expect a lot. They're doing well this year for a reason, and of course they're a division up from us for a reason too.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that to be honest - the usual manager cliché when playing a side in a lower division!

Tim Flowers obviously had a pretty illustrious playing career, but I think I'll always mainly associate him with number 2: https://youtu.be/VIAUTOFUNn8

Hopefully we'll have a similar slice of luck tomorrow.

I couldn't get to the walsall away game so definitely going to this one. Hope we have a good following to get behind the lads. This is going to be tough but expecting the team to put on a good show and who knows we might just snatch a win.

Boys playing well against a massive side. Some good football on show. Hatfield scored a cracker. There goal came from a winning header falling perfectly for their player.

Very good result and sounded like we played reasonably well and were the team playing football.

Get yourselves there on Wednesday night.

I really hope we finish off this heavily bankrolled bunch of thuggish, long-ball boring bastards in the replay. Their rich owner Eales, who heavily subsidises the set-up, must be wondering why he bothers funding a club of thirty-odd full-time professionals when only about 400 locals bother to turn up for a match.

It's laughable to suggest that a huge squad of full-time players plus extensive ground improvements has been financed by a car park. The owner admits he has invested heavily in "proven talent" and their own fans say the club is bankrolled. The car park arrangement was only a temporary thing and ended some time ago and I could post a link to show that if I could be arsed. Anyway it was never of such a scale to finance this kind of investment. Hopefully on Wednesday football will triumph over this appalling hoofball served up by a bunch of giant thugs.

Great result today, looking forward to the replay on Wednesday. Does anybody know how many Darlo travelled down? Bit awkward have a replay just before the hectic Christmas period.
