Agreed a draw for us a decent result as it would mean 10 points from 4 tough games in 11 days which would be a fantastic return. More pressure on Spendymore as after all they are the pride of Co Durham!theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 12:55 pmIt's not a big game for us. It would be brilliant to win or even get a draw, but if we don't it doesn't really matter as we've had a great little run and are still in a transition period. Our players will not be under any pressure, Spennymoor on the other hand...........en passant wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 9:46 amAnd Spenny away, with them wanting to get back on track after two defeats, will be a very big game for both teams and the direction of the second half of the season.

Or could it be that when you're standing with supporters rather than at the other end looking at them, there seems like there are more there?Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 12:28 amI think that sometimes they are embarrassed at their home support & it's easier to understate the away support & make out they have more support than they actually have.
People accusing other clubs and even our club of understating our support for reasons such as "tax purposes" need to be reminded that they are effectively accusing clubs of fraud just to soothe their own egos. Not a good look.
And in any case, it's the money through collected through the turnstiles that goes in the books, not the announced crowd figure.

Well, we actually do, end of.
Though I'm in agreement with you that sometimes our fans just won't have the official figure, which is silly.
If a club says x fans were in the away end, then x fans were in the away end.

And also on the turnstiles there were a number counter and everytime they let someone in it counted so surely it's accurate on the counter...Also the away end is only 4 steps high so because there looked a lot of people in the away end it actually doesn't hold that many... Just watched the highlights on the Blyth website and clearly the away was pretty full while most of the rest of the ground is quite sparse. The main stand was also pretty full but you do not see that from the highlights. Stand by my initial estimate of around 600 Darlo fans.

Re: Blyth game
Someone said that the away end holds 1,200. I can't see how, given that it looks smaller than the tin shed.
Did Blyth actually announce an away figure? 600 seems a reasonable guesstimate to me.

It's a precarious position for Blyth the way they are operating now. I noticed that four of their starting XI against us were loanees and another loanee came off the bench. That's the maximum you can have in a match-day squad. We saw the damage that even one recall can do if it's a valuable player and the dangers obviously increase when relying so much on loans. They have another potential problem in that they are largely toothless up front without Roberts and he could well be attracting attention in the New Year as he's a class act. And from what I've read not many Blyth fans think Lee Clark is the Messiah.

684 seems to have been given.Ghost_Of_1883 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 5:46 pmSomeone said that the away end holds 1,200. I can't see how, given that it looks smaller than the tin shed.

I think some Darlo fans went through the home end, however I would say about 700 is probably about right.
Same as the 668 given at York, they are probably about right and to be fair excellent, wish clubs would bring anywhere near those numbers to us, although it would require a bigger ground if they did.

I fear you may well be right, it was my first visit and I found the fans, ground and bar top notch.LoidLucan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:05 pmIt's a precarious position for Blyth the way they are operating now. Shame if they’re relegated as I’d deffo revisit (if we stay down obvs).
