Too many Darlo fans compounded in a small space, which then turns out to have a dodgy fence. How can this possibly be anyone else’s fault except the organisers- to suggest anything else is nonsense, and I found it strange that the main person in charge of sorting out this mess was our chairman, D.J.
Mr Singh said this " I'm not expecting to get back any of the money I've already put in, I'm prepared to write it off for the future of the club. I'm not hanging in to make any kind of financial gain in the short or long term - if someone was prepared to come in and take the club off my hands, I'd be more than willing to discuss it"

It's astonishing that Spenny have made no reference to the chaotic, dangerous and shambolic events off the field other than to mention "unsavoury" incidents in the away end. It's incredibly crass. They can't just shove their fingers in their ears and shout La La La when the club has compromised public safety like this due to their negligent and irresponsible planning and organisation for the match.

That is strange indeed, but then we've come to expect a level of professionalism from our officials that is clearly sadly lacking at certain other clubs. What did DJ do to get it sorted?

Apart from being the only person of authority to spend any proper length of time at the incident position, it looked to me as if D.J. Suggested and then organised for the far end home supporters to be moved so that our refugee fans had somewhere to go to after being moved.

From the main stand it appeared as if DJ was trying to get those in the corner to move down without much success. He was then at the seated stand behind the goal getting the Spenny supporters to move over to allow darlo fans in to ease the congestion. He must have been knackered the number of times he was up and down the pitch.

Hats off to him he possibly prevented the game from being abandoned.

What were the Spenny officials doing while all this was going on?

They were very quick to comment after the home game last season.

Unbelievable. Am I right in assuming the safety of visiting fans once inside the ground is the responsibility of the home team (perhaps in concert with any other competent (I use the word advisedly) authorities present, the police etc)?

It's alright, Spenny's Head Of Matchday Operations completed his duties after publishing a Frequently Asked Questions report 24 hours before the game. Job done, no sweat. He said: "Yes, there will be some additional stewards available to support our existing dedicated team. The additional stewards are there to provide an extra presence to help and support the expected high number of supporters from both clubs. The stewards we use are experienced and have additional equipment (body cams) which we do not have within the club."

The "unsavoury scenes" bit is in the official match report so the club clearly blames us.

You'd normally need the Incredible Hulk to accomplish that.

Whether they do or don't they will still muddy the waters and point at us, it's what they do they go into full defensive & blame everyone else mode.

Same when they announced cheaper prices for the playoff without checking with BPA and then it was all BPA fault because they hadn't agreed when they had to take it back. They didn't follow the rules but that wasn't their fault it was someone else fault.

Plenty of space down the side, and even the section of your seats was not full, but a lot chose the corner to sing at spennymoor fans, and a few pulling fence down, the one in white hoodie stood out, cctv of the idiots, sure will be identified soon.

Wasn't plenty of space down the side and we only got extra seats when our CEO organised it. Good job he was there to make sure the game finished.

Fence was knackered after goal due to crowd surge as no crush barriers, mistake from Spenny originally not making it all ticket and then steward opening up that part.

Mistakes all over off the pitch for Spenny today, shame they didn't make as many on it.

As we said in advance that thin line of terrace was over-loaded. Many people could hardly see the game as it was and there certainly wasn't room for another couple of hundred decanted from the danger zone. The area we were crammed into was woefully inadequate for the number of fans. It was badly planned and badly organised and caused major safety problems.

fence already misshapen before any goals, due to fans kicking pulling and shoving it.

The singing and chanting was going on from both sides. The point is that your organisation of the ground was woefully inadequate. How your barriers past the ground inspection is unbelievable. Fact is Spennymoor were negligent in the match preparations and people could have been hurt. If you want to play in the big boys league you have get your act together. As I said in an earlier post heaven help you if you are promoted and play Poole they are not as tolerant as us.

Can't have been much of a fence to start with then.

How any Spennymoor fan can look at the match and go “yeah we organised that well” is beyond me.

They really do go into North Korea mode whenever they mess something up

So, is the enquiry into this likely to be a League issue, or do safety-related matters go straight to FA?

Classic Spenny, whiter than white, holier-than-thou. Darlo fan banner ripped down, nah not our fans, then the video comes out, ahhh well it shouldn't of been there anyway. Put out the information for their biggest fixture of the year the night before. Over fill a section of the ground and then escalate the situation with heavy handed stewarding... and once the sh*t hits the fan. Ahhhh it was the Darlo fans going full hulk mode and pulling those cemented posts out. Noticed our ground managed to hold back the cast of Grange Hill when Campbell put us infront last week.

Lucky for Ainsley to get the win today. Probably saved his job for a little longer from your chronic under performance this season. All that investment in the summer from uncle Brad and Ainsley can't keep his squad happy having to let people go and send players out on loan cause he can't rotate properly. Add to that, we'll still see you again next season, cause Kings-Lynn will win the league and York will have the play-offs, add to that no run in either cup and Uncle Brad will have spunked useless money up the wall. Why not get some ambition like Salford, build a proper ground and sack the dinosaur holding you back and get a proper manager who can piece together a title challenge at a decent level of football.

You’re just trolling pal. There was nowhere to go where you could see along the whole side from about 2:15. I know that as a fact. You don’t.

Despite trying to muddy the waters, Spennymoor can think themselves extremely lucky if nobody was seriously hurt. The arrangements were announced late, were totally inadequate, the contingency for overflow placed fans in danger.

You can argue the toss all you like but that’s what the authorities will see.

Yep see it on here and twitter.

Can't admit that their club made a shambles of a day possible.

It was obvious what to do if they were only giving us that section, make it all ticket and limit to 600, announce it about 2 weeks in advance.

They are also blaming people for standing in that area when the stewards sent people in there and also kept moving the barrier back. Really poor by Spenny today, just can't find anyone who will admit it.

Just like they won't admit they're bankrolled. In the last couple of years they've started to adopt a bit of a siege mentality and get defensive and nasty. Not the club they were. Sometimes if Darlo were away I used to watch Spenny, and scores of our fans went to support them in the NPL Play-off final a couple of years ago. Not sure they would now. A friendly little club has become Royston Vasey F.C.
Just read the Echo report and the referee reports that Spenny's players wanted the game abandoned. What the hell? What sort of players and management team would want that? The 'vibe', calling themselves the 'Pride of County Durham' etc. etc. Seriously, it's gone to their heads. Hope Brad's proud of his soft players.
