Remember, the players have all admitted to it.

I’m paraphrasing here but they’re along the lines of: “Leave them alone, it’s only a bet”,
“Other players will do it so it’s fine”,
“How dare you even report this?”

And my favourite is the guy claiming Darlo players will have done it too - absolutely obsessed with us.

They simply can never hold their hands up and admit they’ve got it wrong.

Spenny are such a backward, paranoid, insular little club.
They always come across as “squeaky clean”, it’s never our fault, our fans totally responsible for postgame.
They really are an annoying little club.
Good post by the way Gramps.

Indeed. They really are North Korean in their response to anything which has gone wrong, and this is just the latest in an increasingly long line. From the football club itself implying it was other clubs fault that the players didn't know about the (widely known) betting ban to some Spennymoor Town fans abusing the reporter who had the temerity to report the news. A reporter who, if internet rumours are to believed, Spennymoor Town have banned from their ground. Truly something different them lot.

If Taylor and Boyes do get bans then it could well hit them. Mind, considering in the 18/19 accounts there were 'transactions' between Brad Groves company and Spennymoor Town of over £630000, they probably wouldn't struggle to find the cash to replace them

Yep, the £636,000 "transactions" that Great Annual Savings had with the club must only go one way because Spendy say the football club is a "non-profit organisation, all the money we bring in as a club is put back into our academy".

On a serious note, a couple of the numbers mentioned are pretty scary and could be indicative of someone in the grip of quite a serious betting addiction.

I really hope they get the help they need if that is the case.

Players may not be too bothered as they may well get a fine and Uncle Brad will pick up the bill.

They might as well say that profits are invested in time travel given the chances of them making any.
