It is still my view that this season will finish.

To me you can't have a season that doesn't conclude as there is too much riding on it for everyone, and you simply can not have any kind of Statty type formula which is fair.

Football at some point will recommence and when it does finishing this present season will be more important to what comes next.

Next season could be adapted in numerous ways before a ball is kicked so that everyone knows what is going on and so that it is fair for everyone.

Furthermore it seems possible that further lockdowns in the future may also occur. If this present season isn't finished then there could be a situation whereby next season could be paused....then what? Two consecutive seasons binned?

For me the priority is also to complete this season and there is still a chance that could happen.

However the closer we get to the beginning of next season with out any of this season's remaining games being played then I can't see how there would be any other option to scrap it due to an overload of games.

There's really no way of telling which way it could go at the present time as the situation changes by the day.

Like I have said on another thread let's finish this season at the start of next season - and then split the league in two just for next season regionalising the two halves if possible which would cut costs. With a one off league cup competition maybe split into four groups of six to subsidize the missing league games. Scrap the play offs for next season only with the winner of each half league automatically promoted.

Not going to happen.

You touch on a good point ie apparently but we all know games with the likes of Gloucester city aren't fruitful I wonder if for next season only it would be worth going down the Scottish premiership route still split the league into a north and south section with clubs playing each other home and away twice it's just a thought but four games against the like of Gateshead spennymoor and farsley are going to generate more income than games with Leamington Kettering and Kidderminster harriers.

Interestingly step 5 and 6 of non league (which I think I'm right in saying is counties level football) have declared that the season is over and no more games will be played. They will be having further discussions to decide whether promotion / relegation will be decided on a PPG basis or whether the season will be declared null and void.

Farsley brought about 10 supporters to BM so hardly fruitful.As q4L has said,the league is already North and South,Or are you proposing a National League North North and a North South.??

I don't think brackley town or Gloucester city fetched half a dozen fans between them - I know double regionalisation isn't going to happen for crying out loud all I'm saying is it could be a good idea though for one season to recover some of the thousands of pounds we're going to lose during this enforced break.

I listened to the game on DFR & when Farsley scored there was almost complete silence, so hard to believe that 50 away fans wouldn't make some sort of celebration noise that could be picked up on the radio.

How on earth can you comment on the number of Farsley fans as a result of listening on the radio is unbelievable. For what it is worth I would guess the figure to have been nearer 20/30, based on actual observation but who really cares.

There were fans there. Stood up in the top right hand corner. They had a banner that read “ Flat Cappers“ or similar. Others were sprinkled around, maybe 30 - 40 fans, and the Farsley Vice President who was milling about.

You can keep staff on the payroll and they do not have to work, these are classed as “ furlough” employees of which HMRC fund 80% of normal earnings up to a maximum of £2500 per month per employee.
