I have a pretty good source and he's telling me we are linked with Adam Johnson, allegedly he has became match fit during the lockdown.
How could anyone become match fit during lockdown? Clearly you are some sort of troll trying to be funny but I don’t think many people will find it so.

I see the Mackems have let 24 go. The majority of these are players aged under 24 so presumably haven't had much if any first team involvement. I've no idea who they are though I'm sure others will. From the number alone though you'd think there may be one or two that could perhaps do a job for us?

What Watmore does next will be interesting whether he pursues football or wants to use his degree.

Storey (albeit a little indirectly) and Wheatley both came via these types of pathways so why not?

Jack Diamond who scored against us playing for Harrogate is on the pending list.

Would have him in a heartbeat, very impressed with him when we played Harrogate.

See Kyle Lafferty also released by Sunderland what a signing he would be but I guess will find a higher level club.

Sunderland fans having a real go at Donald on their message board, they have just lost their keeper to Rangers on a free and left it far too late to renew his contract which has expired.Apparently turned down £5m for him not that long ago, absolute shambles with these owners and many fans have had enough and think they will struggle next season. Also they want Parkinson out as well

So was I. So much so I’d say his abilities make him a league two player at the very least.

Heard that we could be in for Sol Brynn from Middlesbrough on loan. Only a rumour from twitter though.

He wasn't fit in jail, prisoners get fed burgers, kebabs, pizzas these days according to the daily mail. But sure mate, call me a troll while he hits double figures next season
Lets hope he manages 16+ . Remember what happened when he hit on 15 !
Now get lost.

I'd imagine Alun will take a look at the young lads released from all of our near neighbours when possible. He's emphasised looking local in the past so I'm sure he will take such an opportunity.

I hope we get Junior Mondal in, although he may land higher up if someone in the conference is willing to gamble on him.

Don't know what attracts you to Mondal. Just read his stats on wicki and 5 goals in 35 does not look so good, and at 5" 9 he doesn't look like the hold it up alternative CF I thought we would be looking for.
On saying that, I know nothing at all about him so I am probably totally wrong about him.

He's a winger not a striker... not to mention playing at a higher level. He was on fire for Whitby.

There's a big gap in quality between the Evostik and NLN.

Ah, sorry I didn't realise that. I think we need a goal scoring CF more than we need a 4th winger.
Just my opinion though.

Boro have released Mitchell Curry, Enes Mahmutovuc, Nathan Dale, Stephen Wearne and Layton Watts, wonder if Alun had worked with any of these when he was at Boro?

Curry and Mahmutovic are meant to be pretty well regarded too

Mitchell Curry was on-loan at Inverness CT earlier this season and played 15 games and scored 2 goals before being recalled by Boro. He then went on loan to Gateshead and played 4 matches (scoring once) before Covid struck. I wonder if he is expected to play in the play-offs with Gateshead. He is Newcastle born, so you would expect Gateshead to be interested in him longer term (if he was a success).

He played 35 times for a team aiming for League 2 play offs, so not sure the gap between Evostik and NLN is an issue.

About 2/3s of those appearances were off the bench, and he’s since been released. 48 appearances in total and he scored only five goals, which isn’t brilliant for an attacker.

It’s a bit of a misconception people have that because someone has played at a level, it’s instantly assumed they’re good enough for that level. It’s an incredibly simplistic way of looking at things.

I’m not saying Mondal wouldn’t be a good signing at this level. But what I’m saying is people need to look beyond: “He’s played at a higher level so he’s good enough for us”, which is too reductionist an argument.

I reckon Lafferty will be on between £6,000 - £8,000 a week.

He's also a loose canon so one to avoid.

He is also nearly 33 and has no club so l doubt he will command that much in future. Would expect he will find a full time club in the lower leagues but might have to settle for a much reduced pay packet next season.

Is that why he was fired? Because he's a loose canon?

He could end up at Vicarage Road.
