Re: Potential new signings
Surely we will get some signings announced in the next couple of weeks.
Re: Potential new signings
I'm not expecting much until start of August when playoffs conclude and I guess there will be some certainty over a start date. If we are closer to January than September to restart I am not sure there will be much rush on signings.

Yeh I think our main targets might have games until August though.

Re: Potential new signings
Efl are apparently having meetings/vote to commence the league on August 29 or September 12 with reduced capacity's. It will be interesting to see what the National Leagues take on this will be once the playoffs have concluded.
Re: Potential new signings
Couldn't give a toss what spendymore are doing whether they signed 6 or 60 ,
It's what we as a fan owned club do, my only thought and hope is that when alun does sign a player that the player will fit into our squad, have ability ,quality, and a heart for club.
I trust alun to get the best for what he can afford, he knows what he's doing and he's done well for us since coming onboard.

Re: Potential new signings
I think the most frustrating things, are that it's taking so long for any news about new signings & that we haven't had the usual leaks of potential targets. The lack of news about potential targets is probably good for the club, as it is far better for contract talks to take place in private than on a public forum like this. We'll just have to be patient.
Re: Potential new signings
Don’t see how there could possibly be any news of signings at the present time when there is such uncertainty about when/if next season will start. The club have done the right thing by tying up the nucleus of a decent squad from last season and are presumably awaiting for events to unfold. It would be silly to commit to new players until there is a timetable to work to. In the meantime I am sure AA has identified potential targets and is closely monitoring the situation. All we can do is be patient and put our trust in him and the people running the club they are doing a good job.
Re: Potential new signings
Pete, league clubs only put out their retained lists at the end of June. When you have a 24 year old Welsh international released by Forest Green amongst over 1000 players, many of them will fail to find a berth at new league clubs so the quality of player available will be higher at NL and NLN levels than previously.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 9:47 amI think the most frustrating things, are that it's taking so long for any news about new signings & that we haven't had the usual leaks of potential targets. We would have been stupid to commit to players already at NLN level rather than look around at what may now be available, and that is before you take in the worries about the restart as mentioned by others delaying things.

Re: Potential new signings
Yes can`t beat a new signing then saying to him welcome but don`t know when you might be able to play maybe next year?
Re: Potential new signings
Came on in League One playoff semi-final last night - may still be released but you would think it's an almighty drop.QUAKERMAN2 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 9:59 amAnother player mentioned is Alex Pattison, a Darlo lad who is at Wycombe, again not sure if he has been released
Re: Potential new signings
AA is doing the right thing & has got the nucleus of the team for next season sorted. There is no rush for new signings, as several good points already made about play-offs not yet finished, delayed start to season even clubs being forced into cashing in assets to cover financial losses. Could be some bargains to be had, however I like AA's policy of trying to sign lads from the region and who are keen to play for us. Trust AA to do the right thing.
