We have a new centre forward, Holmes, we don’t realise the talent we have because of that injury. All I want now is Wheatley, then we will have the nucleus of a strong squad with a couple of AA surprises to get us starting the season strongly.

Holmes is not a centre-forward.

New deal for, Donawa , Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes Hedley
Last season’s players we’re still waiting on: Laing, Storey, Galbraith, Watson, Liddle, Holness, Atkinson, Campbell, Reid, Wheatley.
Could also include Lucas Bell, although he played very little part for the first team.
If the bulk of those first 10 senior players sign, we probably only need two or three signings and we’ll be in good shape for whenever the new season starts. A goalkeeper and a centre forward for definite. And maybe a specialist right back to replace Trotman.
Could also include Lucas Bell, although he played very little part for the first team.

Campbell, Liddle, Storey and Wheatley are the most important IMO. I’d expect the first 3 to sign but the I’m not sure with Wheatley as he could get tempted by full time football which I couldn’t blame him for.Darlogramps wrote:Last season’s players we’re still waiting on: Laing, Storey, Galbraith, Watson, Liddle, Holness, Atkinson, Campbell, Reid, Wheatley.

I expect Watson to sign as cover. I’d also expect Laing, Reid and Atkinson to sign.
Galbraith may decide like Thompson that it’s time to move on and Holness I’d heard hadn’t been offered anything. Take this as you want because a post a few weeks ago suggested he hadn’t but one of the updates suggested that he had

Re: New deal for, Donawa , Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes Hedley
Wheatley is also the one I worry about purely because I once read that football is his only income which doesn’t give the club much leeway if they want to retain his services. Of course this may be incorrect and may or may not apply to the other players on your list.D_F_C wrote:Campbell, Liddle, Storey and Wheatley are the most important IMO. For me along with Donawa this is one of our best signings.
Looking forward to watching this team next season. Whenever that will be.

Holness still seems to be a strange one. Appears to have a new agent based on a tweet from earlier today (https://twitter.com/adambfoy/status/1264121050083852289) not sure if that means he's shopping around looking for a better deal.
Very happy to see Campbell signed up for next season, would have easily got to 20 goals this season had the games been completed. Hopefully, Liddle and Wheatley will follow soon.

Cannot really see Omar signing somehow especially if his new agent has a finger in a few pies, but hope he gives us one more season and can always put himself in the shop window.Personally I hope the remaining lads commit, big question mark over Wheatley though as this is his only income apparently and would not blame him if he wanted the ££££‘s elsewhere. Wonder if The Pride are interested?

Hate to say this! But I reckon Wheatley could be on his way to Harrogate. Just the middle fielder they are looking for along with Falkingham

Interesting to see that Alun isn't furloughed atm, as he is busy sorting out the squad for next season. he's probably one of the few managers at our level who isn't furloughed.

Holness is a funny one as he should have had more game time last season than what his performances deserved.JE93 wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 6:42 pmHolness still seems to be a strange one. I think some of this was because Alun was reluctant with a few of the players initially that he felt needed some work (Bascome, Holness, Donawa).
However, in terms of his ability, I certainly think this is his level and any talk of him playing in the league above may be a stretch too far for him (I could be wrong). It just seems a question of can Alun guarantee he will play week in week out - which is what Omar will want at this stage of his career.
It remains to be seen what the outcome is for Holness along with a few others - however I am sure we will hear more across this week or so.
