Re: Farewell Tez
Sarcasm?
This was pretty much my expectation when Thommo leaving was announced and Galbraith had been offered terms but hadn't responded.
Not sure it changes recruitment plans considerably as a first team CB was always on the cards.
What a player he has been for us, impressive how he has adapted as we have moved up the divisions and seriously where has 8 years gone!

Re: Farewell Tez
This marks the end of an era now, 2 great lads gone on and off the field.Would imagine this frees up a fair slice of our available playing budget and hopefully we can bring in a couple of leaders on the pitch, this is key for me.
Every confidence in AA to bring the right type of players in, we just need to end our season once and for all and start planning for next hopefully.

Thanks for 300+ games, always with heart & effort. Probably DFC would not be here now without his contribution. All the best, Tez in whatever you choose to do next.

Tez’s contribution has been great, but this is melodramatic and over the top.jjljks wrote:Probably DFC would not be here now without his contribution.
Let’s keep things grounded and sensible please.

Re: Farewell Tez
Tez has been fantastic, not many play 300 games and score over 50 goals, with 3 promotions.
I also think he has gone out at the right time as well, works for both player and club currently. The end of the old era, we continue to move on.

Re: Farewell Tez
Echo that. I think we will miss his delivery especially at set pieces. What a great left foot, best since Alan Walsh unless my memory is playing tricks on me again!super_les_mcjannet wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:42 pmTez has been fantastic, not many play 300 games and score over 50 goals, with 3 promotions.

Re: Farewell Tez
I agree back at HP his deliveries at set pieces were fantastic. But in recent years this hasn't been happening & we have been playing without this side of his play. Great player for us, it feels like the end of an era & hopefully the start of a new era. Hope Tez enjoys the twilight of his career, he certainly deserves too.bga wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:14 pmEcho that. I think we will miss his delivery especially at set pieces. Re: Farewell Tez
I’ve said before managers like to get their own players in and normally let players under an own regime go at some point - Gray, Wright no different. We are living under a new player budget hopefully DJ in his forthcoming netcafe can actually let us know what it is as a fan owned club we should be able to ask that question? Good luck Tez.

Re: Farewell Tez
He has said previously that he isn't going to annouce our budget because that information is sensitive at this point, however as the season has moved on we often get this info anyhow which seems reasonable to me. We all know a general budget anyhow and no one should be far wrong as nothing significant has changed currently.quakersfan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:38 pmI’ve said before managers like to get their own players in and normally let players under an own regime go at some point - Gray, Wright no different. What do you think has happened in terms of player budget from last season, gone up/down etc?

Re: Farewell Tez
All the best to Terry - we had his best years and some great performances - will be fondly remembered.
I personally disagree with Darlogramps and think every single Darlo fan should be given a free I Luv Tezza tattoo in honour of him saving our club.
Obvs Darlogramps at the front the tattooist queue.
We’ll be a few minutes behind him.

Darlo gramps is spot on people just get so carried away , same with Cartman I just don't get it, Yes he has been a good player and yes I wish him all the best , id never say a bad word against the lad but let's not get too carried away.Comfortably_numb wrote:All the best to Terry - we had his best years and some great performances - will be fondly remembered.

Re: Farewell Tez
Agree a close call for me I'll never forget Smith's goal at Lewes in the FA Cup. Best goal I recall Walshy scoring was away at Wigan at Springfield Park. Hit from just inside their half I think even Sir Bobby Charlton in their Directors box stood up and applauded.tdk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 9:55 pmMartin Smith?bga wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:14 pmEcho that. Re: Farewell Tez
Did Tez get offered a testimonial like Thommo, does anyone know?
Re: Farewell Tez
It'll be interesting how it works out for Stephen Turnbull at Morpeth after Nicky Gray stood down following mental health problems during lockdown. Maybe It will end up with twin power!

Re: Farewell Tez
I have a friend who goes out with a twin.
"How do you tell them apart?" I asked him.
"Well" He answered " My girlfriend has long black hair and is slim, while her twin has a moustache and is called Brian"
