Atkinson....what the hell.!

He has had an absolute nightmare. A big gamble to drop him in the starting line-up and it has not paid off, sadly.
Especially when we have Laing and storey available
Awful attempt to clear the ball or tackle for 4th goal by McMahon this is getting embarrassing.

Thought we did quite well for first 25 minutes. All fallen apart since. You need the luck to go with you when you are the underdogs and it has deserted us today.
With hindsight playing Atkinson at centre half has not worked today. Also surprised to see Reid on ahead of Holness. Perhaps AA does show too much loyalty to the ex Blyth contingent.

I disagree with luck. They had 2 offsides which should not have been.

Arguably that was luck...we just needed even more

We have given the ball away so so cheaply all game.

I know we're lower tier, but that means you bloody play like it. Dig in, graft, make it hard.

Pretty tame exit this. All I can say is we have to dust ourselves down and concentrate on the league.... and hope Bristol Rovers don't pull Man City or Liverpool tomorrow.

This is horrific.

I dream of Darlo getting a top premier league team in the cup one day but if we played like this can you imagine.

More worried about the game against Gateshead and how much this game will hit our confidence.AA should know his best team and formation so now is the time to play it.

It would be double figures if we played a premier league team, it still might be today. Their heads have totally dropped.

At times we are playing some really nice stuff & knocking the ball around really well, just some poor defending is letting us down.

Is there any point. Chances of it making a difference are slim. The odds were they would comfortably beat us.

You think then Atkinson better in that position than Laing or Storey?

Clutching at positive straws, the game has allowed Hunt, McMahon and Holness some game time.

Saltmer clearly called "Johnny's" as he came out ahead of their first goal - whether he'd have got their or not who knows but he did the right thing coming for it.

Not sure what Campbell was doing for their second, didn't seem to make any effort to get goal side of his man and ran outside him instead of getting himself between the man and the goal.

After that heads just dropped all over. Charman looked isolated. Wheatley has done well and Holness has looked bright since coming on. Otherwise just outplayed by a much better side. Disappointing lack of fight after we went behind though, heads dropped much too quickly.

Absolutely there is a point. Cant keep selecting the wrong players in the wrong positions and expect to do well. Hunt and storey formed a decent partnership earlier in the season, I’m not saying we would have done any better by having them both in, but surely we couldn’t have done any worse

No cup distraction now so might as well, although fixture congestion and rotation could disrupt that. Just annoying that we've put in a limp performance today. First 30 mins more than matched them, one mistake and for whatever reason we have capitulated dreadfully.
