It's more there sizes to get a standard XXL and bearing in mind XXL is usually 50 - 52 inch chest you have to buy a 4 XL or 5 XL. They are pretty shocking sizes joma sizes for xxl are 44 - 46 inch chest

https://mjm-sports.co.uk/joma-size-chart-3
they are worse than errea and thats saying something

If that's the case i won't be buying a shirt for the next 3 years or so untill they change to another make
Is this a pride thing or something because you have to buy a size bigger than you usually would?
I sell clothing as part of my job and I see it quite often that different brands have slightly different sizing and have had quite a few customers who say they are a large (for example) in a high street brand but have to go bigger or sometimes smaller in the brand they choose off me.
End of the day nobody sees the label so whats the problem other than a conviction that you should only be a large etc? A lot of modern kits are slim fit, even the current away shirt is classed as slim fit so everyone was advised to go a size bigger. Its brand snobbery in my view.

It's about wanting to wear a shirt that fits nothing to do with pride ffs πŸ™„ and joma sizes only go to 3xl that's why i won't be buying one unless they offer bigger sizes

Your not getting it Joma maydo upto 4xl but there actual sizing is well off. For a Xxl they give a 44 - 46" chest which would normally be a Large in mens clothing. Im normally a XXL which should be a 50 - 52" chest. Clothing these days ain't tailored too lets say the more rounded guys 🀣

I don't think you are getting what he is trying to say. A size is relative in the scale a manufacturer uses.

Arguably if they have more sizes available they are actually offering more options as it must mean they start smaller, and potentially go up in smaller increments.

The small / medium etc. is just a name of that particular size. They could instead just use a number like they do with womens clothing.

I am a mixture of small, medium and large depending on the provider. I check the size guide (when online) or try on (in store) to determine which size I want.

If they supply Sunday League sides successfully I imagine they can go suitably large.

So what 'size' is their 50-52" chest shirt?

Whatever letter it has next to it, it's a 50-52" chest, so that's what size it is. Just get that one. Or don't. But no need to cry about it.

Its all relative to the brand.
I bought a Leeds top over Xmas, 44/46 was XL for adidas.
I dont know any brands that class 44/46 as large and I deal with a lot of different ones!

I’m sure club will have done their research into sizes when appointing a new supplier.

I think the best thing will be too try on the tops in the club shop if you live locally. Hopefully the shop will be open sometime over the next year.

This thread is grim. People melodramatically twisting on about nothing.

We haven’t even got to the Hoops v Non-Hoops debate yet.

40-42" is pretty standard size given for Large.

Of course, whether that is legitimately an actual 40-42" depends on the brand.

And Adidas is probably twice the price of Joma.

Personally I am happy that the board are dealing with this, and that they believe it is the best deal for the club is good enough for me. Merchandise like the shirts are to make money for the club as well as letting fans show there support. This season is the first time I have not bought a home shirt for some years because it was the same as the previous two seasons so hope there is a change this next season. Given that we had a sale on home shirts fairly early it could be I may not have been the only one. I did buy the away shirt though. Looking forward to seeing the options.

Fully agree with this.

As for the design this Joma shirt has a half hoop of a sort which in B&W might keep the "Darlo only wear hoops" supporters happy, while also being different enough to persuade those who think recent tops have all been too similar to be worth buying to get one next season.

https://www.joma-sport.com/en/shirt-sho ... 21?tid=147

I do wonder though whether the majority of the supporters are quite conservative (small c not in the political party sense) with the result that anything which isn't what some now regard as our traditional hoops simply will not win a vote.

If and to the extent that is right we could well be destined to end up with very similar shirts year after year
