Questions and answers from tonight's forum. Part 2.
Was the rugby game a commercial success?
It made a minimal amount of money.
Has George Houghton any involvement with the club?
On the football club side no, on the surrounding land side yes.
Would the planned developments at the club go ahead & if so who would any profits go to the club?
At the moment given the economic situation planned developments would not go ahead until things with the economy improve. If any developments are built Singh would have a 50% interest and any rpofits on his share would go towards the club.
What are the club planning to do at the end of this season?
They are hoping to run some events similar to the Elton John concert. But any plans would have to take into account not damaging the pitch for the forthcoming season.
What happened to the funfair money?
The club charged a rent to use the car park, which was a financial success and is likely to be repeated.
If we are doing well & get injuries will extra money be put in towards the end of the season?
Raj Singh said we don't intend to be hanging around in this division.
Question to Dean Windass, can we learn any lessons from Hull?
Results on the pitch are crucial, get results and crowds will turn up. If Darlo get into the Championship in the next 5 or 6 years then crwods will turn up. Raj Singh then said that Windass had told us there plans!!!!!!
Then a hot topic that caused a few arguements. Does the £50 membership to use the Ron Greener suite rule out people using the matchday carvery?
There will be a matchday charge of £2 plus the cost of the meal. No other club has a facility like the Ron Greener suite free for fans. There are 1500 season ticket holders, only 100 of them want to use the Ron Greener suite, why should they get preferential treatment. There will be 200 places in the Ron Greener suite club. Very heated arguement with some people that object to paying £50 a season. Decision has been made for financial reasons and to raise as much money for the club.
Will players resume coming to the bar after a game?
Dean Windass was very keen on this idea. Colin Todd also thought it was a great idea for players to interact with the fans after a game.
Are players looking forward to the Sky game being live on TV?
Plyers we have could have walked, but players have remained at the club. Players have trained well and its great for the game to be on Sky. Todd is looking to beat Leeds.
If we are still in administration for the Leeds game what will happen to the revenue from that game?
Money from Sky will come to the football club and not to the administrator.
Is Todd looking to bring in players for the Aldershot game?
Any players that come in are likelt to strengthen the bench and not the starting line-up.

Do you mean Windass was keen on meeting the fans, or just keen on the idea of having a pint after the game?!Darlo_Pete wrote:Will players resume coming to the bar after a game?

Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Probably both, I think he is keen as being seen as one of the lads. But he was definately ijn favour of players meeting the fans after games. Another person said that the issuing of player stickers was very successful in encouraging fans to stay behind after games and should be re-introduced. Todd thought it was a great idea.
Re: Questions and answers from tonight's forum. Part 2.
I didn't think so. The first answer in this quote started off with something like "we'll see". I got the impression Raj wont be throwing silly money at it, and wants to get the club on good financial footing. It appeared to me that the 2nd answer was a joke by Singh. Raj seemed to be wanting to do this sensibly, despite not saying alot. At least this is how I saw/heard it. Others will probably have a different opinion.Spyman wrote:Slightly concerningDarlo_Pete wrote:

Raj made it clear that financial stability is the priority but a serious promotion opportunity would not be thrown away. He will not BUY promotion but he will support it.

And CT said we are not in for Bridges ? At least we can put that puppy to bed.

Wow, if he really means that then it's a fantastic and incredibly generous approach to running our club. The developments that have planning consent are still 3/4 years down the line but if built out and 50% owned by DFC that could really give us the platform for success.Darlo_Pete wrote: Would the planned developments at the club go ahead & if so who would any profits go to the club?

Re: Questions and answers from tonight's forum. Part 2.
So we've just come out of the most worrying summer in our history. Throughout May we looked like being on the bring of extinction. We effectively started pre-season with 2 players. Thankfully we're saved, and the new owners provide a forum for fans to share their views....
So what's the hot topic on everyone's lips?....

Good on the club regarding the £50 membership, we're a league 2 club needing to make money whereever we can, for to long now Darlington have been too generous, we're very cheap compared to other clubs in our league
Re: Questions and answers from tonight's forum. Part 2.
Was nasty listening to Graham Fordy try to defend the club on that issue - the guy who'd raised the original point clearly wasn't listening and when he'd gotten bored of pretending to he just said "alright, whatever" and sat back down like some kid who'd lost an argument. Then other people started speaking up and it all got a bit hectic.

Was it mentioned that West Stand STH's haven't had access to The Ron Greener Suite (or at least been notified we were allowed to) for some time now? If so, how did that go down?mikkyx wrote:Was nasty listening to Graham Fordy try to defend the club on that issue - the guy who'd raised the original point clearly wasn't listening and when he'd gotten bored of pretending to he just said "alright, whatever" and sat back down like some kid who'd lost an argument. I don't recall that being mentioned in the midst of all of this. It didn't sound like there were any restrictions on the £2 matchday fee that was mentioned by Graham Fordy. It all got a bit confusing in amongst all the arguing to be honestHilly wrote:Was it mentioned that West Stand STH's haven't had access to The Ron Greener Suite (or at least been notified we were allowed to) for some time now? Raj Singh said we don't intend to be hanging around in this division.
A bold statement indeed, given all we've been through and the budget constraints I'd have expected words like "regroup" and "consolidation" to be used which would have been more appropriate.

That wasnt what was said Pete - if you were listening, it was Graham Fordy that said any money from the developments would go to the club. Raj quickly corrected him and said that not all money would go into the club - good honest answer from Raj that bodes well for the future.fat tony wrote:Wow, if he really means that then it's a fantastic and incredibly generous approach to running our club. WOW...Well having not yet managed to get to a game at the Arena i have no idea what the Ron Greener suite is..... but i can say one thing!
Unless its a posh name for the toilets then i think if its as popular as it seems then Raj should charge a premium even just to peep in the door.
This is funny..... Im imagining all the fans expecting access to the suite and a carvery before every game!
Where do you think you are Old Trafford?
