Boro or Sheffield Utd
Who do you want to win tonight's live televised game? No surprises from me, I'm going for Sheffield Utd.

I want them both to lose
Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
I think Boro might win tonight but I think Sheff Utd will get promoted this season. Ched Evans should prove a snip at £3m. Keith Treacy and Kyel Reid should prove very good at this level as well.

Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
Ched Evans a snip at £3M? I'm not so sure. He was never going to make it anywhere near City's first team. He was nowhere near good enough even when they didn't have Tevez, Santa Cruz or Adebayor. Always outclassed in terms of City's academy players by Daniel Sturridge and only one goal in fourteen appearances for City. Will probably be a decent Championship striker but can't see him taking the league by storm.
Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
Erm, I'm pretty sure he'll be a cracking buy!
I vaguely remember him when he went on loan to Norwich, averaged a goal every other game for them in the Championship and that was a year or so ago. He will have only improved since then, I'd have paid that much given the opportunity!
Sheff Utd, btw.

Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
Was going to go but for family arrangements.
Anyway, If Tuncay starts then Boro should take three points, he's a different class.
Nonetheless, i'd much rather the visitors take something from the game; so i'm hoping for a Sheff Utd win.

Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
How on earth can Boro be 5/1 favourites to win the Championship? Doesn't look like they'll be many attending tonight's game from the pictures on Sky.

Evans will be back in the Premiership before long.SonOfManHitByDrum wrote:Ched Evans a snip at £3M? I'm not so sure. He was never going to make it anywhere near City's first team. 0-0 on the night a fair result although I thought Sheffield United were the better side over all.

Probably less than ten. Let's hope the trend continues for a few more weeks.

Boro will be top half at least I think based on tonight ( I know it was only the first game) they don't have enough to get promotion especially up front but I expect to see more from Lita this season.

Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
23500 crowd - so even allowing for Sky - it was a good night to go and watch your team's first match of the season. They've already lost a quarter of their fickle support.
If things don't improve fast they will struggle to attract 20000.

Re: Boro or Sheffield Utd
"Fickle support" - are you lot havin a laugh.
your crowds didnt even rise when the club was BEGGING the people of your town to help save them.
anyway , i reckon 23,500 is a decentish crowd considerin it was on telly AND after the manner of our relegation.

Us having crap support doesn't take away from the fact you do too.diggerman wrote:"Fickle support" - are you lot havin a laugh.

Do you not know the meaning of the word fickle? If they were fickle they'd have turned up when we were doing well and vanished when we weren't doing well - our support has been consistantly s*** throughout.diggerman wrote:"Fickle support" - are you lot havin a laugh.

And what do you mean by the manner of your relegation? You mean the way you went down without even a whimper?

The irony. Maybe the Boro fan should check his attendances pre-Robson era and compare.

Not convinced. The abscence of the two Kyles will be a big loss.
Play-offs at best, I reckon, and the team to beat will be West Brom.

yes i take your point about the "fickle" thing , but we're just the same.Spyman wrote:Do you not know the meaning of the word fickle? we're not a massive club or massive town /area.
we have a hard core following which is around the 20,00 - 25,000 mark and yes , anything above that is mainly "bandwagon jumpers" - but most clubs are like that anyway.
and in answer to your question about the manner of our relegation ----YES.
i (and most others) could stomach failure and relegation if there was at least some fight or evidence of caring. Last season was a total disgrace .
Southgate aint the best manager in the world , but tbh i felt sorry for him last season.
These ppl are grown men stupidly high wages - surely they must take some sort of responsibility for their jobs .
