I know people keep saying that Hazel needs to be alongside a big man, but given that effective big strikers are hard to find, it would seem better to try and offload Hazel and replace him with someone who can play as a focal point, or at least can hold the ball up, lay it off, and link up with his team mates.

If we are able to offload the players in the squad that Gowling probably wants to offload, then there may be enough there for another centre forward. Finances are only part the problem, we sold Beck in January and the board made it clear that the money would be there for a replacement. We couldn’t find one. We’re likely to face the same difficulties this time around.

My point was more that you said effective big strikers are hard to come by before going on to suggest that we bring in an effective big striker to replace Hazel.

We all know that A big strong centre forward alongside either Hazel or Nelson is what we desperately need and my well help give us a chance of turning things around.

A mid season mini BTB may be an answer but we couldn’t attract such a player when we were flying and top of the league so not sure our current proposition would prove very attractive.

The solution might be to bring one in who’s doing well in a lower league , as rumoured we have a scout now so he should be able to come up with someone .

Just watched the highlights and not surprisingly it was probably the shortest version we have ever produced. Even their keepers save from Lawlor wasn’t as good as I thought at the time.
