Peterborough V Darlington

Post by Darlopartisan » Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:47 am

I expect the same line up as Saturday, thought the lads battled well for the win, Hazel and Salkeld worked really hard, IMO they both had their best game this season.
I thought Salkeld should of been subbed with 10 to go as he had ran himself into the ground and was clearly running on fumes, I would of brought on Nelson for the remainder of the match.
Hopefully we can continue to get some points on the board on Tuesday night.

This looks like a tougher game than Saturday, as PS are unbeaten in their last 5 games, but at least we go into it on the back of a win. Hopefully, we can get another 3 points, but even a draw would be a decent result.

I’d gladly take a point if it was offered now. Will be a difficult one.

Setting aside our clear need to pick up points, I think it really important we avoid defeat here just to keep a bit of momentum and positivity around the squad after Saturday. A defeat could wipe that out immediately whereas if we can strong together a couple of games unbeaten then belief will start to build.

I believe a bit of momentum and confidence would make a huge difference so even a point would be good, 3 would be fantastic,

team wise - it has to be the same set up as Sat for me

Yeh, injuries aside, changing a winning side at this moment would be madness.

There may be at least one change, I think Platt picked up his 5th booking of the season at the weekend so has a one match ban.

Quite right, we do need to keep up the winning ways but I think a couple of our Old Boys, Kaine Felix & Jordan Nicholson will be motivated to take points off us.

First game I’ve missed for a while, I presume it will be available for live streaming? Has anyone tried it recently, I’ve seen a lot of complaints.

I tried this a couple of times both very poor quality, sound in and out ,picture blackout during streaming, I personally won't buy this ever again. Money down drain.club get about £1-34 I think, can't remember exactly.

Well, I'd take a draw all day long at this point. The win on Saturday takes that pressure off.

Then again, the following two fixtures are difficult, maybe we could do with the win so we have a cushion?

street parking, but most of it is residents only parking. not easy to find parking immediately near ground

Small car park at the ground. In addition, (based on the Scarborough preview from late last season) they also use the car park at a local school c.5-10 minute walk away, below pasted from the Scarborough preview:

'Parking
Dedicated away fan parking at: Fulbridge Academy, Keeton Road, Peterborough, PE1 3JQ. Enterance on Wilberforce Road.

Please note there are 55 parking spaces only, £3 per car, CARD ONLY.

Walking from the ground: Turn right out of the car park and walk along Wilberforce Road. At the end of the road turn right onto Shakespeare Avenue, follow this road straight up and then bear round to the right walking in front of the Fulbridge Academy. Then take a left down Thistlemore Road., half way down there is a cut/pathway on your left hand side. Cut through here to the enterance of The Bee Arena.'

Big opportunity to get off the bottom tomorrow night with Gloucester not playing, and if results elsewhere go our way we could be within three points of safety. Farsley have a tough game with Boston who are on the fringes of the play-offs and Bishop's Stortford play Alfreton who are fifth, although they had a good win on Saturday against Buxton who are also in the top seven (typical!) defeat for them, Farsley and a draw between Rushall and King's Lynn would do us nicely.

Lose and Saturday's result is meaningless.

A few days ago the Farsley game was a must win. We won. Now if we lose the next game apparently that must win Farsely game is meaningless!

If we'd lost a few days ago we'd be ten points adrift, so yes we did need to win and we did win now we need to build on it because if we don't we could find ourselves back at back square one and if that's the case what good was it?

We're a quarter of the way through the season. No win is meaningless.

They’re not going to deduct us three points if we lose tomorrow

On the other side of the coin I have only used it once for the Blyth game. Was surprised picture was not in HD but that may be my set or something? Had no issues with the feed, and commentary was exactly in sync with the play. Based on that I would use it again.

The win against Alfreton in August seemed to pale into insignifance didn't it? We may only be a quarter of the way through season, but April isn't as far away as it seems and it'll be here before you can blink.

What we do now could have an impact on where we are by then, so it matters. Saturday will count for very little if we get beat tonight and results elsewhere go against us, we need to buld on it and get some points on the board with two tough games coming up.

I know what you mean but it’s not insignificant at all. Without that win we’d be 9 points adrift instead of 6.

Exactly. What we do now, and what we did on Saturday, matters.

So saying that losing tonight deems Saturdays win as insignificant is nonsense. if we'd lost on Saturday, would a win tonight be insignificant? No - it would have just the same significance come the end of the season.

We need to consistantly accumulate points over the next 6 months, but no single result deems another result any more or less significant.

Lawlor is out with a back injury so Lees takes his place, other than that an unchanged line up. Rivers added to the bench.

Liddle, Curry and Windass injured.

Strange that the left back loanee Winfield isn't in the squad either.

No mention of Sukar, Mustoe in the official site match preview, everyone else above got a mention. I think it's safe to say they're well out of favour.

Don't know why Gowling is excluding Sukar from the squad, big mistake imo considering he can cover LB and CB and no such player on the bench.Crazy imo.

My how we need a centre forward!!

Played decent for most of half but no cutting edge as usual and we concede the obligatory goal from a poorly defended cross. Hedley done for pace and not a centre half or goalkeeper in sight.

We really have to be beating these teams, they are utter rubbish but beating us.
