Well, I hope it's not true. I can understand that people are so frustrated that they would "lash out" at the club in such a way, but ultimately if they do it makes things worse.

Re: The truth
IF we offered a ticket reimbursement for Chorley, which would probably set us back about £150, does NOT mean that this would have to be offered in the future.CrazyDarlo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 5:11 pmOf course, let’s make financial decisions without any foresight into the future implications.Quakers2009 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 4:19 pmI'm talking about the here and now, not the whataboutery that you are basing your questions on.CrazyDarlo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 4:15 pmYes the club do have cash reserves and it’s absolutely imperative that they are managed sensibly.Quakers2009 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 1:49 pmThe club has cash in the bank and generates income aside from BTB/50-50 sales/gate-receipts.CrazyDarlo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 1:43 pm
So what pot of the fans money are you taking from to cover these reimbursements? Boost the budget? 50/50 sales? Other clubs with rich owners can do this as a PR stunt but it’s not what we’re about.
How many travelled/how many would actually go for the reimbursement? I'd bet about ten, and that's being generous.
You don't have to have rich owners to pay that out, and I can assure you, we've tried PR stunts before to benefit the club - so this isn't alien.
It’s not about the amount of money involved it’s about the principle. As supporters group members we’re supposed to be ‘owners’. The idea that we get our money back when the club doesn’t perform well implies that we’re nothing of the sort.
Also, what happens the next time we’re on the end of a trashing? What happens if we get a similar result at Scarborough/ South Shields. Would you offer 800 odd Darlo fans a refund?
This situation is unique and circumstantial.

Again, completely missing the point.The_Natural wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 5:50 pmJesus Christ....maybe we should have a minutes silence before the forum as well to mourn the Chorley game ?Quakers2009 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 1:20 pmCompletely missing the point.
Barely anyone would actually take up the reimbursement, but it's a PR win, a virtuous gift.
Or shall we remain silent after our worst result in decades & allow things to build up for tomorrow night? Looks like it.

You've got to love the sense of entitlement of the modern day football fan.

Re: The truth
Just to clarify, I was not suggesting that we are rotten to the core, but Sunderland certainly were at the time.The_Natural wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 3:14 pmExcellent post, only thing I disagree with is the ‘rotten to the core’comment I think that’s unfair and assume you are referring to the playing side
Much like Sunderland back then though, it was a sinking ship and it didn't matter who went in there it was always going to end one way and there wasn't much either Simon Grayson or Chris Coleman could have done in the end. It feels that way here now, it doesn't matter who comes in they'll just inherit what Gowling has the same way he inherited what Armstrong had before him, you can change managers as much as you like but if the players you've got aren't good enough nothing is going to change.
Making wholesale changes midseason with limited player availability/resources is very difficult to do, Gowling is trying to clean an entire stable with a toothbrush at the moment and we're stuck with the majority of this lot until the summer at least.
It's beginning to look like we're going to need a miracle to stay up and without a doubt these are the most difficult times we've faced in the last decade.

Some chewing on about a refund say don’t want it - they just want the offer of it.

Re: The truth
I know Tuesday was dire but if the players aren't "good enough" how did we have two recent wins? Looking at the injury list and Burton going back we're really down to the bare bones. Ed will we in the league by the 29th century?!!

Football will not exist. Rollerball will be the thing and only 12 teams in the world. Re: The truth
These sort of over-the-top replies really just sum it up.
I'm asking the club to show a bit of tact, but it would seem that they've been incapable of doing that for a while now.
Speaking of some tact, Gowling's pre-match interview really is a horror show with tonight's fans-forum on the horizon.
I might submit a question and ask what the fuck is so funny about an 8-0 drubbing to a part-time club based from a town better known for its radio station.

Re: The truth
Those two wins were followed by defeats, and yes we may have won a couple but can we say 4 wins in 18 is good enough?don'tbuythesun wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 9:47 amI know Tuesday was dire but if the players aren't "good enough" how did we have two recent wins? I don't think it is.
