Or another cost cutting exercise-clean your own boots and kit?!
Something Gary the kit man does for all the players, cleans and stores their boots, as well as sorting out the washing.
He shouldn't need to do that. The players should be washing their own kits and boots with their own tears, after that 8-0 shoeing.
I don't know what you're getting so arsey about. You did say:

Farsley A
Peterborough A
Chester H
Chorley A
Warrington H
Rushall H

For me, we need a minimum of 8 points, which would be 2 wins, 2 draws, and 2 defeats. Or 3 wins and 3 defeats giving 9 points. Both scenarios should be realistic if we have any fight about us I think, and would give enough reason to believe we have a chance of getting out of this mess. Beating that points haul would be a huge boost as well.

We're well on track for your minimum target. Somehow the little matter of an eight-niller seems to have sent you doolally. Mind, I did say you'd crack long before your six games were up... even though the lads seem to have done you proud so far :D
Yes there's a chance that we can hit or beat my minimum points target, but the 8-0 just won't go away.

If we can lose 8-0, we're fragile and the next heavy defeat is only ever just around the corner - it's going to take a pretty long run of decent results to convince me that we've toughened up and tightened up properly.

I'll be honest I haven't looked at any video of that game and, come to think of it, it's been a long time since I've re-lived any of our "highlights."

I've binned off travelling and tomorrow will take an almighty effort to drag myself down to BM for a thriller under flickering floodlights against a bunch of gnarly old Scousers who we'll probably make look like Man City. Dangerous times for the club when unquestioning sufferers like me start to think that way.

It's not just about results either. The whole atmosphere about the club, the fans etc seems to be filled with conflict, upheaval, doubt and instability. When things in your leisure time start resembling a chore, it doesn't bode well.

Do you know for certain he has a move lined up and how are you so certain of the conditions of that move. People speculate too much on this message board
This^.Too many pisspoor maths students on here who see 2+2 and come up with 6,7 or 8.Guesstimating s*** stirrers.
Na, you're wrong - it'll all come out of the wash in the end.

So Hazel has his move lined up and now risks it falling through as now he’s still needed here. What a way to treat a player, tell him he’s not needed then expect him to risk missing out on his move….
Absolutely nothing wrong with holding off on the move while Asante builds his fitness and Nelson is suspended. Hazel will continue to be professional no doubt.
Sigh.

If you cannot see anything wrong with what's happening with Hazel, then you really are deluded.

Are you able to substantiate that with any facts or is it just heresay, rumours or pure guesswork as to what might be going on?

It totally boils my pee when idiots say anyone who does not hold the same opinion as them is "deluded"
If YOU can not get your head around the FACT that Hazel is a professional sportsman, who is under contract to DARLINGTON FC.(A contract he willingly signed with no one twisting his arm), and that he is therefore CONTRACTED to make himself available to play for and train with DARLINGTON fc as and when needed, and that will remain the position until the Secretary of DARLINGTON fc signs his transfer forms and forwards them to the FA and receives confirmation then it is YOU who is "deluded". No one else.

Can you elucidate as to what is "happening with Hazel"?

Not just with conjecture or opinion. There's a lot of that on here. An evidence-based analysis would do.

Actually, he isn't professional he's part time. ;)

But the rest of what you said is accurate!

Then why, as a part time club, are we considered "semi-professional" instead of "professional"?

I see what you mean, but words are like that, full of intricacies.

Here is the dictionary meaning.

professional | prəˈfɛʃən(ə)l |
adjective
1 relating to or belonging to a profession: young professional people | resources for professional development.
2 engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as a pastime: a professional boxer.
• informal, derogatory habitually making a feature of a particular activity or attribute: a professional gloom-monger.
3 worthy of or appropriate to a professional person; competent, skilful, or assured: their music is both memorable and professional | she's a wonderful actress to work with and, of course, very professional.

Make of it what you will. I make of it that you can be a professional footballer and play in a semi professional team, as explained above.

Someone could be a professional joiner, doctor but only work 15 hours a week.

The word amateur is quite often misused too.

Agreed, was just about to say the same myself. A lot of professionals can be part time so therefore part time professionals. Doctors was one I thought of, but teachers, lecturers, solicitors, managers etc etc

I think semi professional is just a way of saying part time professional. If you're earning money then it's a profession.

Just semantics, isn't it? Pretty sure in traditional football parlance our players are considered semi-professional because they don't earn a full time living from football. They're still professional footballers though in as much as they are paid to play football.

Like when people talk about a club appointing a new "permanent" manager. On a 1/2/3 year contract which they rarely fulfill.

There's nothing less permanent in this world!

Loan_star is indicating that Hazel has now left the club.

Asante requires a 'mini-pre-season' apparently, so I reckon he's fit to play for 30 minutes, 45 maximum.

Unless things have changed in the last few years both signed the papers and when I was doing the job, (In the Southern League), it was whoever signed them last that sent them off, and both clubs received confirmation from the FA. Is that not the case now? (Genuine question as it is a few years ago).
