Re: Simms
Don't k ow how you can say PREDICTABLY did not work.
I can't find anyone on any thread predicting it would not work, indeed someone actually said he was around the first team at Hull. That to me suggests he would have improved us.
I think you are using hindsight to suggest that it was predictable.
Re: Simms
I suppose we were hoping that we might unearth a natural goalscorer who could adapt to men's football. He did look a bit lightweight for this kind of league and didn't take the couple of chances (or was it one?) that came his way in his very limited game time.
He also didn't fit the profile of the big, tough, hold the ball up and bring others into play type of player that we clearly needed. The way it panned out he wasn't what was required and the loan didn't seem to benefit him or us. We obviously made no attempt to extend the loan as in the case of Robson and Hannah, both of whom were also not the answer for us.

Re: Simms
It was one that looked like a stinker from the announcement, but as I’d posted about 50 highly critical posts on Gowling that week I didn’t see much point in saying I thought he’d be crap. It’s not the lads fault he was brought into this s*** show.My opinion wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 6:17 pmDon't k ow how you can say PREDICTABLY did not work.

Re: Simms
I thought he sounded decent. All the clips I saw of him he looked sharp. I thought Buxton were happy with him last season as well.
The Hull manager seemed to feel the need to justify his loan spells suggesting their fans expected him to be in first team contention.
Clearly hasn't worked out but on paper didn't seem doomed to fail.
