The full story is that the word crack was borrowed by the Irish from us, which was then turned into craic and we borrowed it back. It obviously originates from the term wise-crack. I cant see any worries in using the original word it was derived from - i dont even know why we bothered using the Irish version, its bollocks.

After the Irish debacle that happened last season the less Irish words i see the better.
