Downing to Villa

Post by comeondarlo » Wed Jul 15, 2009 10:06 am

Strange move this one.

How many wingers do they want!

Young, Milner, Agbonlahor (more like winger than a striker) and Downing for 12 mill, very odd

Few clubs have been linked with Ashley Young, could be why Villa have gone for Downing

Agbonlahor isnt a winger, he's shite up front but he's no winger

Young can play either side so it gives 3 players competing for 2 positions which is pretty healthy, its also a possiblilty that Young/Milner could play central as a box to box midfielder to replace Barry.

I dont rate Downing at all so im not impressed with this signing, would much rather have had Tuncay and Bentley

Odd that they had to crock him to get him and then choose to buy broken goods.

All spurs fans are currently celebrating that Downing will not be going to WHL.

Now for Harry to bring Young to Tottenham.

What do people think of the possible Viera free move ?

if young goes to spuds ill get naked in the centre circle at the next darlo game.

re viera, dont see the point, redknapp got the balance of the midfield just right at the back end of last season with palacios, modric, jenas and lennon.

it could be a blessing in disguise that 'arry hasnt got much money to spend this summer, the constant chopping and changing of playing and managerial staff each close season is what fucks them up imo

Vieira would be a shocking buy for any club willing to pay his undoubtedly heft salary. The words one last payday have never been more fitting. People need to ask if he was still playing at a high standard why would he be so excited to go to Spurs.

Simple - wants to go to World cup and not getting a game at Milan.
Jenas might well be on his bike (hopefully) and Palacios would learn from Viera.

He's a crock now and when things don't go his way at Spurs he'll start to be out injured more than he plays and given the wage he'd be on I think it would be a bad bit of business. Plus would there ever have been a more defensive midfield than Vieira and Palacios.

viera surely would never in his right mind go to spuds, even though he has been gone from arsenal for a few years he wouldn't go there, and would any spud fans actually want a former arsenal captin? ian wright said viera had been in the midlands at the weekend so maybe villa are looking at him as a replasment for barry

Apparently, Birmingham have offered him a deal, but he would rather live in London. The majority of Spurs fans would have him as he would do what edgar davids did a few years ago in bringing on the kids.
'Arry gets on well with him. Money not a problem as it will be a play for pay deal.
