Just signed for us today by the looks of it, another Kettering player.

Well that was kept a surprise. I presume he's a centre back and at 28 he should have his best years ahead of him.

Hmm, apparently was on loan at Forest Green Rovers, and has helped in their recent upturn in form.

On the Forest Green Forum they reckon it's a real blow and will strengthen our defence. ;)

It says on one site that he's a centre-back, non league international and was the Crawley captain. i'm amazed that we seem to have a load (for us anway) of money t o spend. Onwards and upwards!

He also knows where the net is and should give us a threat from corners and free-kicks we havent really had

For anyone who missed this - a little info on Quinn

IMO he'll be more of an asset than Dempster, looks like a real bull with leadership qualities which is what we've been crying out for at the back
divas wrote:Adam Quinn - 28 year old with over 260 BSP games under his belt for Halifax, Crawley & Forest Green. Crawley club captain but can't get in their side since they signed Mills, McFadzean & Hall (and now Dempster), on loan at FGR until 8th January with FGR keen to sign him permanently - they've only been beaten once with a 90th minute goal since his arrival, also knows where the goal is, scored 7 for Crawley a couple of seasons ago.

Taylor right back, Quinn centre back, with Hatch back up front?

Taylor on the bench for me. Quinn at CB with Miller and Hatch up top with Main.

Exactly what I'd go for. M Smith did little wrong against Barrow, but Wimbledon will be a tougher test, and Hatch will do what Smith does, but will give the Wimbledon defence a tougher time.

Just seen Quinn described as "a beast of a man". Sounds exactly what Cooper has been looking for. Pleased with this signing (presuming it's gone through that is...)

Very satisfactory signing.

As for the game, the club NEEDS to wait until tomorrow for a pitch inspection, milder air IS coming and there is a good chance it will have thawed by tomorrow.

Game should still be on, this should thaw through the night. I agree with divas Quinn and miller CB and Hatch up top. But Quinn might not know many of the team so that might be another factor to put him and Taylor on the bench. Not sure :problem:

Confirmed by Crawley http://www.crawleytownfc.com/newsdetails.php?ID=1804

He can't play for us when we play them away.

That's hardly fair, since when can a stipulation such as that be put in place? He's our player now so surely they can't preach who he can and can't play against?

It does seem unfair. Didn't the same thing happen with Joachim and Boston?

Afraid they can. If we dont accept that then the clubs do not agree the deal. It happens all the time in all leagues.

Bottom line if we wanted him bad enough and they insisted on that clause before they'd OK the deal, we have to lump it!

It's confirmed on the official site now, complete with photo of Quinn holding a Darlo shirt. He looks a right beastie, just my type of centre back.

And 20 year old Taylor, as well as having great potential, can play left back, right back or centre back. As well as midfield. The next Rob Purdie?

Great signings by King Coops.

Quinn will be a future DFC captain.

Also great that we seem to be putting together a squad not just for this season, but also for next. We must have at least 6 or 7 players who have deals for next year now

Fair enough then I suppose, seemed a bit of a cheeky clause to put in. Two great signings by MC though, Quinn looks like the commanding centre half he's been after, and Taylor is hopefully someone we can nurture and bring the best out of. Good luck to them both and welcome to Darlo!

He looks a monster! If he plays in the way I'm imagining him playing, him and Miller should make a good partnership. I like the depth we have at the back now. Arnison, Miller, Quinn, Brown, with Taylor back up for anywhere across the back (for now) and Hatch available to fill in if needed. Now for MBW and a striker, and we could have a good 2nd half of the season, especially if Hatch can go back up front.

Confirmed on the OS. Looks a good signing and is a really good age with experience but his best yet to come. Other possibility is Taylor will go to left back and Brown will become a winger.

I think what's happening here is what Cooper would have liked to do if he had the time in the summer, and now he's getting his own players in we have more of a chance to judge his qualities as a manager.
