Best home game since......

Post by wylam_rangers » Sat Aug 29, 2009 10:13 pm

I reckon the Bury 2-2 last season. We were up - down, under the cosh, fought back and were unlucky not to nick it in the end.

Great performance by Gall and if he keeps playing like that we won't miss Abbott.

The main weakness at the moment now is the deadball kick. Delivery is too high or too flat and we are missing the Burgmeister.

The problem with the dead ball kicks is the fact that Gary Smith isnt very good at them at the moment yet seems to have a monopoly on them. Give them to Porritt.

Really?!
I'd say our distribution needs a lot more work than our deadball kicks.

i agree with wylam it was a good game where the players showed heart and spirit it was refreshing to watch and a good atmosphere it will never be the same as it has been for the last two years where realistically we were spoilt and now we have to get on with it and back what we have got 100% and forget about "penny's should have dones" and as the song goes "things can can only get better"

" Penney's should have dones " What a great description. They really should have done, especially the season before last when Abbott's injury was wheeled out as an excuse.Penney was an impressive manager BUT he was well backed up by lots of cash.I wonder what he could do with our present squad. And more controversially I bet Mick Tait would have had a good go at promotion with Penney's team.
But,yes an enjoyable game yesterday.
