Alan Davies

Post by Ash_Quaker » Tue Apr 10, 2012 1:23 pm

Anyone heard the comments he made about Hillsborough, to which he's receiving death threats for?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtkZNzl4JYo

Got to say I agree with him.

Yeah, he's right but what's the big fuss even if they don't play on that day?

Davies was spot on.

The grief junkies at Liverpool FC will never admit as much though.

He's right.
Hillsborough and Heysel = 135 dead. Still wasn't there fault.

I think the FA Cup semi-final vs Everton would have been the perfect way to celebrate the lives of those who were lost & move on.

Sad as it was, you can't just go setting days aside to not play on.

Couldn't agree with him more.

What I always think about when people go on about Hillsborough is that undoubtedly hundreds of Liverpool fans have some blame for those that died, yet look at the Bradford fire, one person to blame for dropping a cigarette resulting in over 50 people dead. I know where most of my sympathy lies (and that’s before you consider Liverpool’s built in victim complex make it easier to feel less towards them).
Now is not the time to cry
Now’s the time to find out why
I think you’re the same as me
We’ll see things they’ll never see

Be careful. The Mickey Mouse Grief Police will be all over you for even suggesting that someone might think that maybe even one person who had even heard of Liverpool/liked the Beatles a bit/admired their "Grayyyt" sense of humour /doesn't think that Lawrenson talk's shite/used to watch Brookside/thinks Jennifer Ellison is fit (which I do) is partly to blame for some of the so called responsibility. It wasn't their fault.

They've told us so.

I agree with him.

Didn't United play on the 50th anniversary of the Munich disaster in order to have a memorial day?

Not relevant.
She's hot.
Shut up Fatty.

The End.

PS. I agree with Alan.

And how, exactly, is that relevant to "what Liverpool do"?

LFC have reached this conclusion, have asked both the FA and UEFA for a consideration in this matter, and have had this request granted.

End of story, move along, nothing more to see here.

i'm not saying it is relevant to what Liverpool do, but it does support Alan's argument taht you shouldn't refuse to play on a certain date

OK, he makes valid points. However, you have got to remember that the Hillsborough case is still ongoing and others like Heysel and Munich are not.

As far as I'm aware it's closed but people want it re-opening and private government papers released. They have done this twice and still won't accept that Hillsborough was some of there fans fault  .

It wasn't their fans though, it's a bit different.

Personally think they should play think it is a better tribute to show that life goes on. At the end of the day all seater stadia is a legacy of hillsborough it is not like it will be forgotten at any point.

It is very much a british blame culture that there is always somebody that has to have the burden on their shoulders, which I don't believe Hillsborough was.

Just to show the difference in culture, imagine if Anders Breivick had conducted his massacre in England, would only a third of the courtroom be filled with 'spectators' apparantely in a survey conducted the majority of the nation don't want to give him air time they feel his trial should be conducted he should be put to justice for the crimes he committed. That would certainly not be the reaction if that had happened in England!

I guess our culture is probably deep routed to public executions and the theory that those that 'do wrong' should be named, shamed and made to suffer in front of others. I think Norway have shown a way of going about things with a lot of dignity.

Look in depth at any tragedy, and theres never one cause. Theres always a number of factors, that had any one of them been different, accident would be averted. Hillsborough is no different. You just can't blame the fans, OR the police, OR the stadium design. Its a factor of many, and no matter how many investigations there are, it will always be that way.

As terrible as it was, I feel its time for dignified rememberance, not endless enquiry and conspiracy.

As for wether the game should go ahead on that day, as long as both sides agree, I don't see there being a problem. In an age where we can easily shift dates and kickoffs to suit the media, why shouldn't we be able to do the same for rememberance.

Seen the new Liverpool strip? Never heard of Warrior, but they've decided to put a couple of flames on the back of the shirt, and "96", in homage to the victims of Hillsbrough.

Seems a bit mawkish to me.

Yeah I saw it and thought the same thing.

They're genuinely addicted to grief. Its weird, creepy, and a bit sick.

I really struggle to bite my tongue when it comes to the hypocrisy of Liverpool fans.

And the classless wankers have chosen today, the anniversary of the Bradford fire, to launch a media campaign about the movement of the 'justice flames' from the front to the back of the new shirt.

Heaven forbid anyone is given time to reflect on anyone elses tragedy but theirs.
