Paddy Power are taking bets on the Mercury Prize 2013 - http://www.paddypower.com/bet/music/mercury-music-prize

I reckon Chvrches are worth a punt at 18/1 before their album comes out, all their stuff so far has been quality. Would have gone for Foals but 4/1 feels short. Not keen on either record but I reckon Savages and Disclosure are good value as there's loads of buzz around them.

now ya talking! watched the bbc3? documentary about them the other week - had no idea what a musical pedigree they had!
I watched this, and I didn’t realise that Chas Hodges had been in so many bands before, such as The Outlaws with Richie Blackmore. It also showed what talented musicians they both are.

Anyone see any of their set from Glastonbury on the BBC? Was brilliant the bits I saw.

Well, Savages and Disclosure have both made the shortlist. No Chvrches though.

Chvrches still not out for another week, looking forward to it. Good to see Jon Hopkins make that list - quality record. Listening to a lot of electronic music recently like that. F*ck Buttons and Maya Jane Coles are another couple of good ones.

Really enjoying the new Arctic Monkeys album at the moment. Also the Nextwave Sessions from Bloc Party and just had the new Arcade Fire and Pixies tracks on Spotify.

Gotta say Heroin and All Tomorrow's Parties are the first tunes I go to when needing a Velvets fix. Would love to have seen them back in the day
