The second series of The Hour was brilliant, particularly having Peter Capaldi (from The Thick of It) in it.
I must agree with Jazz that the French series Spiral is really good - Audrey Fleurot is one of the sexiest women to appear on TV for a long time.

I implore, no, BEG that you get on to Breaking Bad
Yep pretty much decided on Breaking Bad, looks right up my street. Also got the perfect storm of lots of days off and hungover mornings around Christmas to take a good run at the boxset. Will report back with how I get on!

Don't find all of Stewart Lee's funny to be totally honest, but his stuff about top gear had me in stitches!

Stewart Lee is quality. By far my favourite comedian.

Watched Utopia last night, first of a six parter. Was very good, anyone who missed it should give it a watch on 4oD.

Even if you don't like Sci-fi then the most recent Battlestar Galactica series (2004-2009) is definitely worth a watch, it's brilliant.

Watched it last night. Overall liked it, although it seems a bit try-hard.

Rarely get to watch TV and thought the choice on the box over there was pretty dire when I came back at Xmas, but I watched a few DVDs - The Strange World of Gurney Slade being the oddest of the lot, though Sir Henry at Rawlinson End was up there too.

Also watched a George Clooney film called Solaris which I thought was very good, and an old Spencer Tracey film called Inherit the Wind which was superb.

I recently watched Underworld series and I'm not a huge fan of that series but I really enjoyed this entry of Underworld Awakening 2012. Mindless, non-stop action, super violent and makes good use of 3D. Well worth the matinee price I paid.

I'm watching Utopia as I type.

Love it, weird in parts but overall a good watch.

Just started Breaking Bad, about half way through Series One, it's ok but I hear it gets better.

I believe Dexter is back on Feb 24th

Is anyone else loving Game of Thrones? Gutted that tonight's episode is the last of the season. Last week's absolutely floored me - I don't think I've been stunned by something on film or TV like that for years. Think I might have to go on full-on geek and read the books over the summer.

Also I've watched Breaking Bad up until season 4 now - very good. Took me until season 2 to really fall for it, but when it got into full swing it was awesome.

Might have to start watching Game of Thrones.

I usually have no interest in these things about magic, wizards etc but even people who hate that sort of thing say it's good.

Game of Thrones
Confusing overated pap IMO

Watched the 1st series and it was rather boring ,and then as a final kick in the nuts they killed off the 2 best and most famous actors at the end of the 1st series.
Never bothered with the 2nd & 3rd series .

The sadly missed Spartacus was far far superior....

At least Boardwalk Empire & Dexter are back on shortly

Think you've described the main reasons I got into it. It moves quickly between a load of characters and locations and the scenes are quite rich so you have to keep up before it gets confusing. I've read that the author of the books kills off main characters along the way so that readers/viewers never know what to expect when characters are in peril, rather than expecting the 'good guy' to escape every time.

I watched 'The Returned' on Channel 4 the other day, was weird and interesting enough to keep watching. About a small French town where dead inhabitants start coming back to life, but not in a total zombie-fest way. Worth a go I reckon!

Revolution is worth a watch.

Flashpoint is brilliant too, although that ended about a year ago.

I'm currently working my way through all ten seasons of Spooks. Can't believe it's taken me this long to start watching it!
