It's pretty much identical to last year.

The first touch is even worse, the graphics have hardly changed since 11 (with the rain this year being particularly crap), the career mode has massive lag issues on PS3 and EA seem to be happy to ignore anything that isn't their Ultimate Team cash cow.

In short, yeah, it's wank.

I read that they've patched the main game already, changing it drastically? Is this right?

Yup. Career mode on ps3 is soooo slow and unresponsive. Transfers are crap. Gameplay is slow and stodgy. Still, score some great goals!

Sorry, I meant that I'd read they'd patched it and made the gameplay better and quicker than it was at launch, but obviously not then?

I haven't noticed a change mate. Funny thing is the game is probably more life like but the gameplay is pedestrian.

played my first ultimate team games last night. Been restricted to the demo until now.

Credit where credits due to the first poster it is different from last year I conceded 2 or 3 goals last night where a player managed to just barge his way through my players who were seemingly just too slow/incapable of tackling as hard!

I also can't seem to win a header from my own keepers kicks. Nothing I press seems to do a great deal.

i've noticed a change in the game play to when i first got it.. but the Career mode is really laggy and unresponsive as mentioned above. i don't like this scouting thing. much prefer just going on transfers and seeing what a players rating is instead of having a '?' next to it.

When i'm in team management thats also really laggy, it always takes 2 presses of 'x' to select a player and the same with whoever i'm swapping them with.

Its little things like that which make me not want to play it as much.

I do prefer the actual game play though, seems more realistic than last year

Has anyone else noticed that headers are quite overpowered, especially from corners? Half the time the defenders don't even bother jumping for it or the keeper doesn't move.

As a plus, I'm liking the new Co-Op Seasons mode, great addition.

I've noticed that too. every corner i've scored with a header, its nearly taken the net off haha, or if i don't score, the ball goes miles over. very overpowered

I guess all these lagging issues will be fixed on the PS4/XboxOne versions of the game

I havn't noticed this, I have noticed that I must have David Knight in goal though, every corner I concede might as well be a penalty. Despite having Vincent Kompany and Howedes/Badstuber as my centre halves in my Ultimate Team they haven't won a single header defending a corner yet!
