Love the "very second string" bit Pete.
As you know. I don't miss many games. I had seen 8 of the 17 of our lads before, and 2 of those, only once.

I see Cas need a new coach as Last has been booted. No shock there then.
I was shocked when he got the gig as he did not pull up any trees at Dull.
Powel back?

At yesterday's Darlo game, Rob didn't even know that Last had gone and he instantly said that he'd be happy with Powell returning. Powell didn't have a good ending to his stint at Castleford, so personally I don't think he is the answer, although perhaps he will be able to do something in the Championship next season!!!!!!!

Well it's not Powell as Castleford coach, ex London Bronco's coach Danny Ward has been appointed until the end of the season, Not a very inspiring appointment. Next Friday's game for Castleford at Wakefield is a must win game for Cas.

Pete, I was told Powel is on gardening leave so could still be an option.
Have to say, Ward impresses me as a good young coach. I hope he gets the gig full time.

Got something important to do in an hour's time. Darned if I can remember what ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Hell yes, head off to the bright lights.

Pleased for Leigh who go from relegation favourites to winning the Challenge Cup. Interesting to see if they suffer the usual hangover from the Challenge Cup.

A massive, massive game tonight.
I think whoever loses can get ready for the Championship, and it will take a lot to get back up to SL for whoever.
Sad as I think both are "old school" RL clubs steeped in tradition.
Yes, I know that counts for little in this "throw-away" world, but I would far rather have those 2 than a couple of others I could name.
No idea who I am going to be shouting for, but looking forward to watching.

Wow what a performance by Wigan against Catalan Dragons. Usually a side can have a purple patch in a game, but for the whole 80 minutes Wigan completely dominated Catalan for the whole game and in their own backyard and in very hot conditions as well. By beating them by 34 points, it has improved our points difference above Catalans. We could do with Hull KR beating Catalan this upcoming weekend. Any chance Ed?

If we can replicate the 27 successful offloads we had against Leigh I do not see why not.
Add to that Jordan Abdul just might be back. That ill always make life interesting for any defence with his kicking.

Well good luck, Wigan showed you how to do it. I'm working in South Wales next week and returning a week on Saturday, so I'll be calling in to watch Wigan play at Leeds, should be a great game.

Hey Pete, will that do?

They were the better side, (slightly), first half, but second half we were by far the best side and got the result we deserved.

Yes that is great, thank you. That should help your quest for a top 6 play=off spot? We were again pretty impressive against a spirited Salford. Really looking forward to next Saturday and our visit to Leeds, should be a great game.

Udders away next Friday, then Salford at home, and finishing with Wakey away. It is entirely in our own hands.
6 points we finish top 4. (Which we should have done after the seasons start and before the injuries hit hard).

Well, as I said, it is in our own hands!
Salford next week. Win that and we are safe.
Our last game will be a sad day as Wakey wave SL goodbye.

Yes very sad to see Wakefield get relegated, hopefully they'll be back in the SL a year from now.

OMG what a performance at Headingly yesterday. We certainly put Leeds to the sword with a ruthless display. Granted Leeds had some injury issues, but that's the difference between us and Leeds, Wigan seem to have multiple options ready to take their chance when we suffer an injury. Fantastic support as well, in very hot conditions. The League Winners Shield is in our grasp, with only Leigh away being the only obvious challenge to overcome.

Way too close to call. That is great for the sport in the UK with only 2 games to go.

Can't decide who I want to win today. If Warry win KR are just about safe in the top 6 with the games to play.

We are quoted at 25/1 to win the grand final and I have had a few bob on it.
May seem a poor bet, but Jordan got in a 20 minute and 10 minute stint the other night, and even though a prick tried to take him out yet again, it is a massive boost for the entire side to have the best kicker in the UK back again.

Very sad to see Wakefield get relegated after 24 years in the SL, hopefully they'll bounce back next season.

A 10 try thumping of Castleford last night, sets up a classic local derby at Leigh next Friday, which will hopefully given Wigan their first League Winners Shield since 2020 and give us a great chance of making the Grand Final next month.

I was glad it ended for Wakey last night. I would have hated for us to seal their fate next week.
Hoping to see Will Dagger later today and get a chat. A very, very good player whose contract becomes void next week.

Any slip up's by Wigan or Catalan on Friday, could see them have to play an extra game and have to play away in a semi final to get to the grand final. Whoever ends up top will face one of the lower ranked sides, which is a massive advantage.

Wow, what an end to the league season. With 2 minutes to go all 6 places were still in doubt. You really can't ask for more than that.

Well done Wigan on winning the league, and thanks for beating Leigh.
KR ran riot at Wakey in the second half and scored 38 points to clinch 4th place and a home game next week v Leigh.
Going to do a bit of "I told you so" here. I said at the start of the season we would finish in the top 4.
The bad news, yet again, Jordan Abdull took a hit and has damaged his leg yet again. The poor sod just has no luck whatever with injuries.

PHEW. Onwards and we go again next weekend. If I am right and we win that we go to Cats again in the semi final.
It would be good to get revenge for losing the semi there the season before last.

Fantastic end to the season and yes it was great to see the all the games going in to the last few minutes with so much on the line. Congratulations on Hull KR grabbing 4th spot. I bet Castleford are glad the season has come to an end after being thrashed by Leeds 46-0.

Nerves going already.
Hard to believe we are bigger favourites to win tonight than Saints are tomorrow !!!! 1/2 on is not anywhere near the true odds. I know Leigh have lost a couple of players, but, as usual, so have we.
We are now 12/1 4th fav's for the grand final win. My 25/1 before last week's games is now looking like a good idea.

Well, we made hard work of getting that over the line. Won the game in a 15-minute spell on either side of halftime and then clung on.
Hoping for a Saints win tomorrow to take us to Wigan in the semi. I know they won the league leaders, but we have a better record there than in France and have beaten them a couple of times this season already.

Surely you'd prefer a local derby at Catalan, who's form recently has been pretty average?

I'd rather Warrington win, as St.Helens are more of a threat to the other teams in the race for the Grand Final.

We have been given 4,400 tickets for next week. Silly from Wigan as we will sell out before the shop closes tomorrow. No way will Wigan get over 20,000 so money-losing for ? reason.
Saints deserved it today but dear me no wonder Bullock was shocked he got binned for being head-butted on the shoulder.
My main thought of the entire day? The RFL really need to change the match fixture arrangements. KR played Warry twice right at the start of the season when they were ripping everyone. We would have slaughtered that lot today !!!
Looking forward to next weekend. Both games.

Start of the semi-finals today, I'm hoping for Catalan to beat St. Helens tonight, as I think St. Helens will be stiffer opposition for whoever wins the second semi-final between Wigan and Hull KR.

I wanted to play your lot because Cats are always far stronger at home than on the road.
I am expecting whoever wins our game to beat Cats in the final.
