One of the Finest comedians and comedy actors this country has ever produced, probably the best of his generation which is quite a statement to make when we see who he came through with...Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Lenny Henry, French and Saunders, Adrian Edmondson, a group of comedians who took comedy to a new level in the 80's and 90's

laughed at Ade Edmondsons tribute to him

"Now he has died for real, without me, selfish b******"

No problem - I was gutted too. I love that bit in DDF where his face gets crushed in the fridge door. I got in to Bottom before the Young Ones, but loved both.

Brilliant slapstick comedian, I actually thought he was older than 56.

The dog s*** part from DDF was superb!
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Easily one of the best comedians I have ever had the pleasure of watching, and I only wish I was able to see him perform live with Ade Edmondson when they took Bottom on tour.

The earlier tours in particular are some of the funniest things I have ever seen, and what makes them more amazing is the fact that they were even able to "practise" their cock ups and incorporate them into the act, just so they could entertain the fans.

Hooligans Island, the bit with the door still has me in bits to this day!!
