Disabled access

Post by charlie » Thu Jul 31, 2014 4:53 pm

My day job when I'm being paid is to care for a guy with cerebral palsy

He wants to go swimming but all of the swimming pools I've tried in the north east don't have full disabled access even the nice shiny new ones

He can't shuffle from his wheelchair into a poolside chair, he needs a poolside hoist that can lift him from his huge bucket seat wheelchair into the poolside chair that lowers him into the water

If anyone knows of any facility that can accommodate him please give me a shout, the education village is closed till September before anyone suggests that one

Thanks guys x

Not sure but maybe you could ask these people where they've installed one?

Pretty sure the dolphin centre has a lift to lower disabled people into the pool

Most pools do, what they don't have though is a hoist to get him out of his wheelchair into the pool side chair
