I think people will have second thoughts when they get to the ballot box a week on Thursday, about voting for UKIP.

I don't doubt that but the reason will be tactical voting. If there was any threat of Labour getting in in my constituency I wouldn't have voted UKIP.

The Sun backs the Tories and one paper claims that 40% of voters haven't made up their minds as to which way to vote, that's equivalent to 10m people, that's a lot of floaters!!!

Depends which Sun you read Pete. The Scottish Sun has backed the SNP. Sounds to me as if they are just going for sales in both countries.

I tried reading the Sun once. Now I'm blind.

You just know it's going to be a hung parliament and with so many red lines being written, we'll probably end up with a minority government and 5 years of instability until the next General Election in 2010.

Yes sorry I meant 2020, typing error. But having a minority Government could be really bad for the economy. Sterling would take a big hit. Nobody would tackle the budget deficit, so our credit rating would drop, raising the cost of financing the budget deficit. I think we'd be up s*** creek without a paddle.

I am less worried. There is certainly a majority left swing. No matter how the government is made up that means that issues to that end of the spectrum should get enough support.

Even where things are quite central the Lib Dems can probably be counted on to do whatever they are told.

The Bank of England have been well aware of the potential for a hung parliament for about 2 years. Mark Carney will have contingencies for all eventualities to maintain the value of the pound.

We are not going to default on our debts. We will get back to strong growth before we default which will wipe out the deficit, bring down the interest rates paid on debt and it will become quite easily manageable.

We will be back in this position again in the future, once back to a surplus the government will invest and continue to borrow (otherwise you fall behind competitors - other countries). It is all a game really and so long as you are ahead of the rest you should be fine.

A "majority left swing" is a nonsense phrase.

It's factually inaccurate - some professional forecasters are predicting right-wing parties (Tories, DUP and UKIP) in total may have more than the left wing.

There is no certainty of left wing parties having a majority.

I do love it when people with no idea what they're talking about pretend to be an authority.

A bit like noted financial expert Darlo_Pete's doom-mongering on the economy.

You watch the pound and stock market plunge, when nobody can form a coalition to govern. It's not doom-mongering it could well be a reality. I'm on a polling station tomorrow, so you all have most of the day without me on here.

I think it's inevitable, too many redlines being written by these minority parties. It'll make for very interesting watching tomorrow night as the results start to come in.

It's good to see you back with us, hope your feeling a lot better?

Is there an election on tomorrow?

Think I'll give it a miss.

So I decided to vote after all.

I find out that my local voting station is in a church.

A church, for FUCKS sake.

I'm not going into a church, so no vote from me then.

None of the parties deserve a vote if they think it is acceptable to make me enter a place of lies and fantasy in order to vote.

But we're voting for politicians. Surely a place of lies and fantasy is the most appropriate place to do that.

Darlington trended on Twitter today.

Delayed response to our promotion? Nope.
Recognition of our FA Trophy win four years ago today? Nope.
Because we fucked up some ballot papers and 89 people couldn't vote UKIP even if they'd wanted to? Yep.

Exit polls look very sympathetic to the conservatives - can't see it going that way but fingers crossed they can get enough to form a coalition with the lib Dems or SNP and keep the labour c**** out for a bit longer

Even more shockingly, the missing candidate's name was David Hodgson. Hodgson missed off in Darlington. Scandal.

I was working in a polling station and we had a turnout of nearly 80%, which is pretty impressive. Who is watching the results?

Looks like the Tories are going to win the election. Labour having a disaster in Scotland.

Labour were guaranteed a disaster in Scotland from the moment they lined up alongside the tories in the Referendum debate. The fact that it was over the Referendum was irrelevant, the fact that they lined up alongside the tories over anything more important than the badger cull was fatal. Labour won't be back in Scotland for a generation.

A really surprising result, the opinion polls apart from the exit poll were all wrong. Even Darlington has become a Labour marginal hold.
