Tyson Fury

Uneducated idiot or someone who knows exactly what he's doing?

Somewhere in the middle is my guess. There are people who have met him personally and say he's a completely different animal when there is no camera around, yet if his media persona really is to make himself look as ridiculous as possible then he's certainly achieving that.

I never really thought he'd beat David Haye when they were scheduled to meet a couple of years ago, and I didn't think he'd beat Klitschko either (and still don't) but he certainly doesn't seem to lack any confidence does he?

Having said that, maybe what we're seeing is the real Tyson Fury? And to be honest, I'd rather that than someone like Anthony Joshua who plays up to the 'Mr Nice Guy' persona far too much for my liking.

No I think it is pretty much a show - that said I am not sure he was ever the sharpest at mental arithmetic and the knocks to his head over the years probably haven't helped. Boxing is entertainment industry as much, if not more than it is purely a sport. They are all competing to generate the most TV revenue they can so that their split is worth more!

It's a lot of hype to help sell the fight. I do feel sorry for Fury, in not getting his chance to fight Klitschko, it would have been a very interesting fight and the outcome would have been a far from predictable outcome.

Pete, do you deliberately post inane vacuous, meaningless rubbish or does it just come naturally?

I never thought a sport could be more hyped up than football in the premiershyte but boxing takes it to another level.

Absolute bollocks the lot of it.

It's not all like that, and to be fair the more the fighters / promoters hype a fight, the more money they make.

I'm sure if you were a boxer you'd be the same. I know I would.

Well delighted I was proved right and it's great that we now have a heavyweight world champion. Can't wait to see Anthony Joshua fight him, now that will be a tear up.

You couldn't argue with the Aussie's record, it was very impressive.
