I've been watching Devs which is really good & started to watch BBC4's new foreign thriller on Saturday called State of happiness, which has started off really well.

Great to see that Cardinal has been moved from it's usual Saturday evening spot on BBC4, over to BBC2 on Wednesday evening. I'd thoroughly recommend this programme & it's one of the excellent crime dramas that doesn't have subtitles.

Parts 3 & 4 of Cardinal are on BBC2 tonight, parts 1 & 2 were brilliant & are on the BBC iPlayer.
Really enjoyed the start of the 2nd series of Das Boot on Sky Atlantic yesterday evening.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the second series of Das Boot, although it has veered away from the original Das Boot series/film.
Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
Have you got Netflix, Pete? I'd highly recommend Dark if you do.

If the first couple of series were anything to go by, Spiral at 9pm tonight on BBC4 will be excellent viewing. Of course you have to be able to put up with subtitles of the French detective series.

By far the best thing at the moment is season 3 of cobra kai on Netflix. Great to see some old faces from my childhood in a karate kid story line.

I’m watching this at the moment. It got recommended to me sometime ago, apparently it gets better and better as the seasons go on (there are currently 8 seasons). I couldn’t get the series for ‘free’ until recently, I‘m about to finish season 1 and it’s living up to its recommendation so far.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:20 pmIf the first couple of series were anything to go by, Spiral at 9pm tonight on BBC4 will be excellent viewing. Yes I've watched 2 or 3 series of Spiral on BBC4 in the past & as you say they get better & better. I heard somewhere that this current series is the last one that has been made, a great pity. Generally BBC4 on a Saturday night has some excellent foreign crime detectives, the very best was The Killing a Danish crime detective, followed closely by The Bridge another Danish offering.

The Bridge is right up there for me, boxset wise. On a par with the greats of The Sopranos, The Wire, GoT and House of Cards imho.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 5:47 pmYes I've watched 2 or 3 series of Spiral on BBC4 in the past & as you say they get better & better. The Queen's Gambit on Netflix is superb. It must have cost a fortune to make!
Oh Blackwell Meadows clock - You are a waste of time

Watched 'It's a Sin' on channel 4 last night, really good drama. Pretty dark but humerous in places.

I've got It's A Sin - along with Deutschland 89 - penciled in for when I've got a bit more time to properly get into boxsets.
I agree with theoriginalfatcat about The Queen's Gambit by the way - really good.

I also agree on Queen’s Gambit, where’s Deutschland 89 on?
Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
I'm probably just going to wait until the 26th and watch it on More 4/All 4 like I've done for the first two series, but I think you can already stream it on Amazon Prime Video.comeondarlo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 2:53 pmI also agree on Queen’s Gambit, where’s Deutschland 89 on?

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
Just finished watching all 4 series of The Bridge. Great crime detective series from Scandinavia as per usual. Pity that there are no more series of the programme going to be made. Also watching Spiral from the beginning on Simon's recommendation.

Just watched a rerun of "The Plank" on BBC4, I'd forgotten just how funny it was. Certainly the best laugh I've had since Lockdown started,

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
Last episode of Bloodlands last night which has been a watchable new thriller and blatantly set up for a second series. Really looking forward to the return of Line of Duty next week which is excellent.

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
I wasn’t keen on Bloodlands tbh, I found a lot of it didn’t make sense.
Loving Line of Duty.
Since the death of Paul Ritter I’ve got into Friday Night Dinner, probably the funniest sitcom I’ve seen for a while

On your recommendation I've been binging on Spiral, just finished series 5. My partner said that she hates subtitles, but she's hooked on Spiral.

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
I think I've already seen series 6 & 7, but not the last series 8. But my partner will want to watch 6 & 7 first. Yes agreed it is a great programme, but to be fair one of many on BBC4 on Saturday evenings. Really enjoyed the Danish/Swedish drama The Bridge as well.comeondarlo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 7:41 amI glad you like it, I’ve finish it now; you won’t be disappointed.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 8:39 pmOn your recommendation I've been binging on Spiral, just finished series 5. The Bridge is probably the best subtitled box set I’ve seen but Spiral isa close second.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 12:30 pmI think I've already seen series 6 & 7, but not the last series 8. As you like Spiral try Braquo, it’s another very good French police drama.

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
Absolutely brilliant news, as the BBC are showing The Killing again on BBC4 tomorrow night, the first 3 episodes are showing of the 220 part series. For me The Killing is the best TV programme I have ever seen, even better than the fantastic Bridge. Watch it & you will be amazed.
