Christmas music

From Mr S. C. Rooge.
Dotheboys Hall: 22/12/16.
Just returned from Germany and over there they are playing all the same British Christmas music that makes you cringe every year when you turn on the radio for up to 2 weeks before Christmas.
Could anything be more banal than the lyrics of Driving Home For Christmas by Chris Rea. A song involving a flipping traffic jam for goodness sake. Every year I consider it would have been more interesting if he'd had a puncture, got breathalised, shunted in a cash for crash scam or something. Mind you, my wife likes it so no accounting for taste etc.
Being abroad last weekend I also missed the chance of getting a ticket for the halifax game, even though I paid to join the DFCSG thingy. Cost me £20; bah humbug.
