Re: Unwanted posts on here
Well there's another whole load of posts to get stuck into. Hopefully they'll realise that posting on here is futile.

Something needs to be done about this, as it is only a question of time before they start posting on other forums on here.

Re: Unwanted posts on here
All the threads that people might want to look at, might be 5 to 10 pages back. So nobody will bother and this MB will die a slow death. Plus by allowing them it will only encourage others to register and post further shite.AndyPark wrote:What harm does it really do Pete?

Re: Unwanted posts on here
Can I ask Mikky why posts especially on this forum, which are clearly spam are not being deleted after they have been reported? them being left on here is encouraging others to post their rubbish on here. I have PM'd Mikky about this issue, the PM has been read but no response & the posts are just left there.
Re: Unwanted posts on here
Because I only have one pair of hands, which are currently busy in a great many ways. I've replied to your previous PMs on it in the past pointing out that most of them are likely bots, and that leaving the posts up won't "encourage others to post their rubbish on here" because they're just automated, and still you keep repeating that - so if you aren't actually reading my replies I see no reason to repeat what I'm saying.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 4:38 pmCan I ask Mikky why posts especially on this forum, which are clearly spam are not being deleted after they have been reported? them being left on here is encouraging others to post their rubbish on here. I'll tidy the board up when I get a few minutes. There's no more than usual on here, it's just gone unchecked for a while.

Sorry for going on about it, the offending posts had been on here for about 2 weeks & I thought you had missed them. Thanks for removing them Mikky.

Re: Unwanted posts on here
I am reporting unwanted posts as soon as they appear, but nothing appears to be being deleted. On the main message board there has been a post posted on the 4/8 & it's still there. The more rubbish that is posted on these MB's that isn't removed just encourages other chancers to post there rubbish.
Re: Unwanted posts on here
Pete it isn't people it is bots. Autonomously posting seeking a response on it as then they know the site is alive.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 7:18 amThe more rubbish that is posted on these MB's that isn't removed just encourages other chancers to post there rubbish.
Other bots are not encouraged or influenced by content of other posts.
Arguably leaving a post without any feedback will be a bigger deterrent

Some of these posts have been read over a 1000 times, how is that discouraging? Surely these people want their posts to be read?

Re: Unwanted posts on here
They’re not people. They’re automatic bots which post wherever they can.Darlo_Pete wrote:Some of these posts have been read over a 1000 times, how is that discouraging? Surely these people want their posts to be read?
All you can do is report them and the mods will delete them when they have time. Shockingly, the mods will have their own lives to lead so can’t be on here all day every day.
Considering all the things going on in the world, I love how it’s some spam posts on a non-league club forum that’s winding you up.
Re: Unwanted posts on here
And the point is that their persistence has no bearing on another bot posting. They will do it regardless.
The new bots aren't being encouraged by another message by a bot being there before and not being deleted.

Re: Unwanted posts on here
The main MB has been flooded with spam, leaving all these types of posts on the MB, will just put off some fans wanting to read this MB. I've reported loads of spam, but they are never deleted. I realise that the moderators have a life away from here, but this issue can't be swept aside saying they are just automated messages & not from real people.

Try some brown sauce on your spam Pete. Makes it much more palatable.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 9:17 amThe main MB has been flooded with spam, leaving all these types of posts on the MB, will just put off some fans wanting to read this MB. Re: Unwanted posts on here
Again message board flooded with spam posts. Really boring but on a positive note not quite as boring as another post from Gramps !

Re: Unwanted posts on here
I report the spam, but sometimes the administrators just leave them on here. I sometimes wonder why I bother making the effort. Perhaps we should leave all these messages on here & then nobody would bother to post on here. I appreciate that the administrators don't always have the time to respond to things on here, perhaps they should appoint somebody just to delete all these posts?
